It’s surely time to act, can’t hit the points total and it’s all a bit flat again. We need that boost to get us going again. Get a new manager, let’s put together a war chest and give it a go.
War chest? Our attendances are nearly 200 below the budgeted level. Where is the money coming from to fund that?
Really disappointing performance yesterday. We missed Ngwa as many would expect but also missed the calmness of Evan defensively. Always going to be difficult with two of our better players missing but we were very, very fortunate that wasn't an absolute pasting.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....
It would be based on a umbrella of potential revenue, that could be attendances (which I’m sure will go up once we change manager), further sponsorship potential, supporters (we havnt been asked if we could do more) and any outstanding owed money. I don’t know the ins and outs of the sponsorship issue but could we not agree a settlement that at this moment in time I would take 5k instead of potentially nothing. It’s not saying it’s going to be easy.
When the new board is in place how about a Save The Diamonds fund,it doesn't have to be forever just to help get us out of this hole that we seem to have dug for ourselves, or someone has dug for us.I don't know whether it could be a small increase in admission charges or a pledge from supporters, there must be options open to us.We may not like it but unfortunately money does talk even at this level of football, their are lots of examples throughout this league and if it means digging a bit deeper into our pockets I for one am only to willing to dig.

You mean spending on a hope revenue may increase and what if it doesn't, oh yes its back to 2011 and Bust as we just spend our total war chest on a wing and a prayer.
The club was built on the precept we would spend what we could afford and in these times of high inflation and power costs means what little
we now have now may have to last us to the end of the season.
I think people not coming is more down to household budgets than our manager and if we get relegated so be it, its not the end of the world
i would rather that happened than be back to 2011.

People may not have the money in their pockets, one of the biggest mistakes was giving the fans the vote on keeping gate prices the same, vote should have been on increased prices .
Fan power is a good thing but can be a burden at the same time.
It was a point I raised at the AGM,surely it better to let people know the financial situation of the club before they are asked to vote on possible increases to admission charges.

That would have meant the board admitting to mistakes though and, with McCormack at the helm that was never going to happen

Exactly this, a fund where we can create additional support

Good point. I'd hope this is covered at the next EGM, it's imperative everyone knows and goes to the meeting.

It’s not about going all out. Anything is possible if you have a structured plan to support and implement it. As Smokey has said it can be a separate fund that helps on top of what we had. To be used as a war chest. It’s not about using all our funds up or killing the club. However if we go all negative and say we can’t do this or that I believe that’s more a threat to our club as people want something to cling to instead of accepting just nothing. The clubs survival is paramount to anything we do, I dont believe there is a single fan who thinks otherwise. But hope and fight during times of adversity is powerful and we have to at least try something.
