"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" or in our case the proverb should read a journey to mid table start with a single win

Shrewd you areBrownie wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 4:54 pmYes I do, think a 2-1 win is possible and Chris will have you charging up the tablediamondsteve wrote: Mon Jan 02, 2023 2:45 pm Would take a 0-0 with a great defensive display to stop the rot. Anyone disagree?
It’s a long road and an unlikely task to avoid the R word but as the rest of the season evolves I’m confident the previous management appointments will look even more ridiculous than they did at the time.
Great celebrations and you could see how much it meant to the players ! With Luke Massingham telling all to concentrate to close out the game .
A difficult game on such a heavy pitch , Conner would of had 1/3 of them on though on goals in the net easily if the ball didn’t get stuck in the mud.

Great performance. Great debut from new centre half. Tee Dawkins Jenson all decent games. Great to see some togetherness out there too. Really like Chris Nunn,Shame it's took this long but that's gone now. Proper step 3-4 manager imo. Was really nice to see local clubs & managers say positives about his appointment. Up the diamonds

Wasn’t perfect, but some promising signs under Chris Nunn. That’s the kind of performance you get when you have a management team who actually know what they’re doing.

Great game to watch, excitement at both ends, everyone playing their part.Chris must be very pleased with how the players responded after a bad defeat at Bedford, could have let their heads drop but they didn't, and to come back in the way they did after St Ives equalised was so enjoyable. Its a small step and there will be ups and downs on this journey we are setting out on but let's enjoy the moment and look upwards.

Fantastic start to 2023, we haven't had many moments like that this season, but what a moment when the winner went in, 2 months since our last win.
Similarly to our other wins this season we did have to have luck on our side on the day, Ives carved through us time and time again in the first half and more big stops needed from Sneds, but still a really promising team performance and some great individual performances too, Ngwa needs to work on end product but still was v difficult for their defence to handle, Massingham looked good, Tee very good, Dawkins really starting to show his quality, Cooper had possibly his best game in a Diamonds shirt and I thought Kanga made a real difference off the bench too.
Though of course the challenge is still enormous, losing Bunga and Hicks means we are even shorter on experience than before and correct me if I'm wrong, but we didn't have a single outfield player above the age of 22 out there today. Looking forward to seeing the other new faces and there was definitely spirit on show today, but the priority for Chris now must be to get some older players in to steer these youngsters to give us any chance of making the great escape.

Well what a difference a week makes! So pleased for Chris Nunn, the new board and of course the fans.
After the past 2 disastrous management appointments, we now have a proper step 3 manager in place which has at last united the fans and club.
It's only one win - and its going to be a big ask to get out of trouble - but I for one have a big smile on my face this evening!

Listening back to Radio Diamonds commentary (which was typically excellent by the way) and seems it could be Ngwa's last game for us, the original loan deal was until tomorrow. Certainly hope it cam be extended!
