I'm fairly certain that the ground and all the land (excluding the Sports & Exhibition Centre) are still owned by the original supporters trust, of which Keith Cousins was the only member. Presumably this has been passed on to the new owners as well as control of the club.

I think the covenant on the land still is in place though - something like £3million to purchase this from the Griggs Group I think before a certain date (sometime in 2012 or 2013 rings a bell in my head!)

Blimey - not many facts there at all is there! Must have been to the Coltrane School of Journalistic Research........ ;)

That seems to ring a bell and wasn't David Suddens, on behalf of the Griggs Group, trying to make the transfer of the Club and ground difficult from the original Supporter's Trust to KC and hence the need for the formation of the new Trust to get over this problem?

I forget now how long the convenant was for, but I think the £3m fee was triggered if ownership of the land changed hands from the original trust, or any building work was carried out on it, although I think for some reason the hotel plans for the front carpark weren't covered by it, but I could be wrong.

In fairness to the Griggs Group/David Suddens, the covenant was put in place to protect the land for the club.

Yes, I agree that the intention was to stop Nene Park falling into the wrong hands.
