They are only averaging 100 more than we did last season. So much for 2,500 a game

The fact they're averaging more than us is embarrassing from our point of view.
Anyway, they're fucked now. Awful set of results for them today and they'll get nothing from their next 3. This season couldn't have gone any better.

Newport County play on Tuesday and Friday next week, so they could be relegated next Saturday depending on the other results, although they may have to wait until the following week.
It is interesting that they play Cambridge United at the Abbey on Easter Monday. With GR at the helm, it might just be the very definition of Karma.
Very tempted to go and cheer on the U's.

Not when you put it into context, IMO. They literally gave away a large number of season tickets and sold an awful lot more for a heavily discounted rate. The first half of the season they were only charging £10 entry, which would no doubt have encouraged more visiting fans and more of the neutral/floating/'part time' supporters. Also (and I can't be arsed to look this up) I would imagine that we had more cold Tuesday night games than they've had this season; remember that after the Eastwood game on December 11th, we didn't play another home game until the scum on Jan 3rd. I don't imagine they've lost many games because of the weather.
Most of all though, remember that they have 600 Diamonds' supporters swelling their attendances!

Yes but only if we had given away 1000+ season tickets that year as well in order to compare.

I was going to mention that they gave away season tickets like confetti as well. Plus they've had Luton on New Year's Day and got 900 more fans than us for that, same with Cambridge and got 500 more from them.

Rattled your cages there didn't I? ;)
To add to that, from what we've all heard, they've been largely making up those attendances to save face.

And we used to do the opposite; publish lower attendances so that we could declare less in gate receipts and therefore pay less to the taxman!
Disclaimer: I made this up as a joke, and there is absolutely no truth in it. Probably.
