I have heard so many stories about that Doncaster side. I wish i'd have seen them with my own eyes.

Interesting stats.

Just checked - Doncaster had one away win that season - at Peterborough - and it cost them the last play-off place :)

I don't have the inclination to look up their finishing position in the Conference in 98/99, but they must have been close to suffering a second successive relegation that season. If memory serves, they were in the bottom 3 at the turn of the year and only a late surge (including a 3-1 victory over us at Nene Park, in which Ian Duerden scored a hat-trick and Steve Nichol an own goal for us!) kept them up.

Newport are now 2-1 up with minutes remaining.

If it stays like that, then i'm damn sure K*ttering will be all but relegated at the weekend. Only goal difference will be in it, and K*ttering's is appalling.

Get your Champagne on ice, and dig out those Cubans you've been saving for a special occasion. ;)

From Ploppynet:-

'Please help the Poppies raise some much needed funds by attending events at Nene Park.
If we don't sow the seeds we can expect to reap the harvest.
The cancelling of this event will act as a benchmark for the future, from this, the club and volunteers will be able to gauge whether or not it's worth their time and energy trying to flog a dead horse again and again and again.
Please don't let this event prove the ex R&D fans that they were right, nobody come to events at Nene Park, it's a waste of time and effort. Let's prove we are Poppies fans and we care more about our club.
If we are doing something wrong then please advise us how to do it better.'

Oh dear. It appears that there is little interest from up the A6 or the floating thousands from the Artleknock area. They wouldn't listen would they? ;)

You would have thought they got the message when they couldn't give away 200 FREE tickets to the evening with Jeff Winter. Hey ho, never mind sure they will prove us wrong again.
