As much as I dislike them and enjoy their misfortunes, I really wish as fans they'd take this advice:
"Sure they have choices. They could agitate, demonstrate, mount publicity campaigns, make it clear that K*ttering Town with our dear friend in charge is not the K*ttering Town they want. They could raise money, they could try to find other potential investors, they could take advice from fans who have faced similar situations. They could lobby in the corridors of power, making the point that our dear friend is perhaps not a fit and proper person to be in charge, having researched that point carefully. They could take legal advice.
Most importantly, given that the club in its present form and/or at its present level is unlikely to last much longer, they could start organising a phoenix club that would be a suitable successor to the real Poppies."
I'd have a lot of respect for them as fans if they did just take a stand and take action, perhaps like Chester did but they seem just happy to go along with a sinking ship that is only going to bring them more misery, big budget or not, next season isn't going to go the way they hope and once again its going to be a season where I can see them struggling to finish. And reading that thread and as you say the 'interesting' comments I have to say perhaps for the first time I feel slightly sorry for them and who knows what shit he'll put them through in the future.

Olly i totally agree with you.... The owner of NP Mr Keith Cousins should not be there at all.... Im suprised the BSBP board or any other board have noticed it yet. Football is a total mess at the moment. Us Diamonds fans know what that pain is like and we deserved better than what we got.... I did not want to see my beloved RDFC die but i had to let it go aventually... I don't want to see that happen again but with the debt that KTFC have built up i can't see them resolving it by any chance... They need to do something which involves rasing money like each week or something....

I agree with Pigman and others that it is a pity for the genuine, long-standing decent K*ttering fans - and there are a few - but they cannot say they were not warned by Diamonds fans, by Weymouth fans, by Cambridge fans and by nearly every other outside observer. The article by twohundredpercent seems to be most perceptive and hit the nail firmly on the head but still they seem to be putting all their trust in Rolls. By the way, having just seen the plans for potential redevelopment of the Skew Bridge area, does anyone suspect that this is the real reason the Essex men are so desperate to hang on the Diamond Way and its surrounding land, which is, after all, only a stone's throw away from a potentially massive redevelopment of the area.
RH - if I were a grammar police pedant, or if I were, say, Red Dragon, I'd correct you to 'if only raising money were that easy''...use of subjunctive tense in the English Language...but I'm not, so I won't!

I'd never accuse Lee of missing the subjunctive!

Firstly I'm lost. MONEY in this case is a SINGULAR entity. Therefore it should be was, more time at school instead of playing football was probably necessary.
Secondly at least my spelling is tiptoptastic ;)

Doesn't Spaghetti Junction have lots of "subjunctives" ?
You'd be alright with that then Rudolph ;)

Only teasing you,Lee. After all you did correct afcdiamondsmatt15's spelling! You are correct that a singular noun takes a singular verb but here it is a case of wishing or desiring which takes the subjunctive tense so 'were' is technically correct. As a retired English teacher who taught several of the people who post on here I have to try to keep up standards! By the way Pigman is asking for volunteers to do odd jobs. Perhaps you might wish to go back to seat cleaning now your old adversary is not there to supervise your efforts! A new start with a new team in a new ground - looking forward to it.

I'm glad you took the trouble to explain it to Lee, Cotty! Whenever I try to explain the use of English to anyone on a football forum, the standard answer is "Don't be so picky, it don't matter as long as you know what I mean." (sic)
An answer which, of course, ought to garner the response, "If only it were so easy!" but that would bring us back to the beginning of this circular argument...!
