Ah! yes the philosophy of the ebayer "starts at 99p" you haven't got a Rolls Royce for sale have you? I'll give you some money for it, no don't worry what it's worth. Or is your name Jack who sold a cow for some beans?

The point you seem to be conveniently missing is that there wasn't anyone offering us money to sponsor the club. It's all well and good saying we should hold out for what the sponsorship, in the club's opinion, is really worth, but nobody was willing to pay that. How long are we supposed to wait; another 6 months, a year, 2 years.....?

We had a product we wanted to sell, nobody would pay what we were asking, so we had to adjust our asking price accordingly, and came up with an original, inventive idea which has brought some much needed cash into the club - considerably more cash than we would have got if we kept holding out for the £50k that Haart were paying each season, which was NEVER going to happen.

I agree with you that raffling off the shirt sponsorship smacks of desperation, but WAKE UP, we are in a desperate position at the moment. Besides, despite what our previous deal with Haart was worth, I'd be amazed if there were many clubs in this league who got more than £10k a season for their shirt sponsorship.

No you wake up, I didn't say that we should hold out for a more realistic £30 or £40 grand, I said that doing it by means of a raffle smacked of desperation and was a bit poo, and it does.

We are desperate, how do you not get that?! And what is more poo; holding a raffle to get a shirt sponsor or spending the entire season without one, or any additional revenue?

You know its a shame the club didn't put the shirt sponsorship on eBay. Would have attracted lots of publicity
