A rule of spending a percentage of your revenue, would even up the playing field against foreign investors, but also help lower league teams against debts/administration by meaning they have to operate "within their means" Premiership teams are overspending to match City's money, and lower league teams are busting a gut to get the sky TV money. Am I right in thinking this is similar to what is being brought in for teams competing in european competitions?

But living within your means can easily be manipulated. Look at us, during the Griggs era we recorded £2.5m a year income from SR Griggs Ltd which was put down as "advertising/marketing", so could be argued as legitimate income. There are always ways around rules like this and the bigger boys will always find a way ......sadly !!

Have to say that of the match reports in the ET today, ours is the only remotely positive one. The plopps appear to be on the brink with reports of their players also not being paid on time, that they couldn't afford an overnight stay in Cumbria and that the Supporters Trust forked out for the players' pre-match meal.

If the worst did happen to the Cobblers, there wouldn't be a league club in Northamptonshire - something for the NFA to have a long, hard look at maybe.

The thing is that they've got a bit of momentum now and with the Wobblers in freefall, may be enough to keep on pressing.

I quite liked Gary Johnson's quote: "If I could have, I would have subbed them all." :D
