If you want to pay me that thirty pieces of silver I'll withdraw my petition

Unfortunately I am not in a position to just write off £60k so feel free if you want to help out.

I understand a couple of other creditors are joining it too.
As a matter of interest what does the company Rushden and Diamonds F.C actually own which could be sold to pay of any of the creditors including yourself.

Yes by winding the Club up you get rid of the Beasents but i can't see you getting any money back unless you know different and unless there are people in the wings waiting with a rescue plan to put before the judge the club will die.

Don't be a berk.

Whoever you might be, you can't afford to let £60,000 get flushed down a corporate toilet because promises made were not kept, even if it is a Football Club for which you have sweated blood one way or the other for close on twenty years, as Gill has.

No doubt if Cloverdale (or some other company) hadn't applied for a winding-up order, Gill wouldn't have done it - but if Cloverdale and others have, and look like they are going to succeed (and only Gill and her solicitors can gauge that) then it would be foolish not to jump on board.

So am I right in thinking once a company issues a winding up notice the defendant has no option but to find the funds to pay the outstanding amount?

So if thats the case the club now HAVE to find at least £120,000 by mid June?

To be fair I'm fully supportive of the people making the claims, I totally despise football clubs who expect their debts to be written off at the expense of local business and just because its Diamonds it makes no difference.

Could be an interesting meeting tomorrow.

No there are no assets but I wonder where some of the money has gone when very few creditors have been paid in the Beasants era.

If it transpires that there has been misappropriation of funds it will make the directors personally liable and I will pursue this avenue.

I do not believe there is a future for the Club with the Beasants there.

This might be a quite naive statement i'm about to make, as to be totally honest i haven't got a clue about this sort of stuff, but it amazes me that such a small local company wants to take on a football club, even if it is owed money. Surely there is the potential for 20/30 angry Diamonds fans to go on a tear up if this does end up killing the club? Afterall, it is only in Finedon!

Gill, i don't mean to sound a bit harsh here but it's got to be said - you must be mad to have given the club so much money. Were you approached by the club or did they approach you? Sorry if that's already been said/asked.

Considering our fans and our club and the general behaivour every week, and the fact that most people understand the plight of local firms, I don't think they need worry!

I'm not suggesting its a certainty Everyweeker, but it's within the realms of possibility.

It seemed like only a couple of days ago diamond mad came out of a meeting with the Beasants and was going to buy a season ticket.

Now there's no future for the club if they're involved?

What's happened in the days since to change your mind?

If Gill feels there's no future with the Beasants, what do people feel are the chances of any new owners actually coming in? In my eyes, its a prosperous football club, with a good community feel, with land that could easily produce multi millions of pounds if used correctly. It also could provide a hub for a Business HQ with all the office blocks etc. I hope if anything, if the Beasants can't do anything with the current situation, they'll have the decency to offer our club a route of survival.
