I have been reading everyone's posts over recent days and it hurts me to see that our club is in this mess and on the verge of folding. I applaud everything everyone is doing.
What we have to remember, in reality, is this club has never turned a profit. Max was forever pumping more millions into the club to see it over the line. So consider that and you have to ask who really would want to invest? Even when we were League One and attracting good attendances, and until that awful point in the season when OBN left us - we were doing well - the club was still making big losses. That was then, this is now - we are stuck in the Blue Square on dramatically falling attendances. The economic climate is dire and means any income from facilities such as the Diamonds Centre has been seriously dwindled. Even with a mastermind of business like Alan Sugar - little can be done to make this club self sufficient. So unless we find a sugar daddy who does not want an income, and just good times, sadly I think it's over.
P.s. I would gladly run the Diamonds Centre for the club - my field of expertise is in Events and developing events business in terms of conferences/weddings etc. But the climate right now is dire and it is fiercly competitive.

Two of Diamonds wrote:That's why KC is so important now as he holds tenure of the land, it must be developed and earn both himself (and any partners) an income as well as the football club, I know he holds some of the cards on this (the other being the bank's covenant), but IMO he is a football man and will see the value of keeping a football club for the "community" a la Max Griggs. After all THAT is why he is here ( I sincerely hope).
Whenever I've met KC he seems to not only be a football man, but have a real place for Rushden as well. Unfortunately, I think it was the defeat to Yeovil this year which gutted him, I was in Strikers after the game, and you could see he was devastated about what had happened, and maybe felt he had taken the club as far as he could. So hopefully there is a chance of him helping out in some way now, as we need it more than ever :|

One would think that KC had that look after the Yeovil defeat as it was a lucrative opportunity gone by the wayside if they had progressed. I would imagine at that time he was already looking to offload the club, due to continued losses and the strain on his own purse strings.

Just wondering whether anyone knows of any celeb with a decent number of followers who supports a non league team themselves, might be more chance of them retweeting if they're more aware of who RDFC are.

might be a long shot, but wasn't Rod Stewart interested in buying the club once upon a time? Around the time Dean Holdsworth joined? I know he's a big football man with an obvious financial clout. Might be worth contacting? Even if its a concert in the ground lol

If i'm being picky we'd need an events licence which we'd never get ;). He was interested in the club at one point though.
Isn't it Tamer Hassan that's Greenwich Borough Chairman?
