Hopey isn't the only ex-Diamonds there, Max Harradine (not Harroldine as it says in that article!) was a 1st year scholar at R&D last season. Glen Fuff, who has just been released, was also with 'us' as a youngster.

Despite the old Diamonds links it was actually the St Neots Chairman who kindly offered us his help quite early on.

There's also Lewis Hilliard who was quite a regular for them last season. They also have a player called Junior Konadu who looked far too good for non-league when I saw him face Cambridge in a friendly a few weeks ago. I believe he also impressed against the Posh and earned a trial with them.

I'm going to this game tomorrow for definite. Obviously won't have the 'card' on me yet, I wonder if there is any way i'll be able to take advantage of this initiative anyway?

Yes!

At the turnstile just say 'Hello I am an AFC Rushden and Diamonds Supporter - can I have a card please'.

I will also take some to the Whitworths friendly tomorrow night if anyone wants one.

Some cards are already on the way to me ;). I'm going to be drowning in them!

An alternative would be to find out what the number of one of these cards is and just tell the turnstile operator the number.

I've been asked by St Neots to put some directions on for you

By Bus
The 62 bus now stops on the Love's Farm development. Map & timetable can be found via the Stagecoach website.
The main bus stop in St Neots is at the market square, which is approximately 15-20 minutes walk away from the ground. From here you can also pick up either the 62 (see above) or the 61 (nearest stop is at the station) via bus bay A.
If travelling on the X5 the closest stop is on Cambridge Street near the Spar shop (between Longsands Road & the railway bridge).
By Car:
From Town Centre take B1428 Cambridge Road. After going under railway bridge turn left at the first (new) roundabout into Damsell Rise. Follow the road which leads into Kester Way and the football ground.
Please note that on matchdays parking spaces in the club's main car park & overflow are limited and fill up quickly. It is currently possible to park in the surrounding rounds, and on matchdays the school car park is usual available. In addition on most matchdays the top gate is also open, which leads to the houses North of the football club site, and can be accessed via Priory Hill.
By Train
From the station turn left and proceed along Station Road. At the mini-roundabout turn left and go under the railway bridge. At the first roundabout turn left into Damsell Rise and follow the footpath which leads up to the football club.

It's also worth noting that some SatNav's have a bit of an issue with locating Rowley Park, as the Love's Farm development is so new and thus not all the roads are defined on older SatNavs (and even some newer ones). Mine wanted to take me to the nearest point to the postcode of the ground - but unfortunately that was the other side of the railway tracks.

Note also that the X5 bus changes timetables and reduces the number of stops in St Neots in a couple of weeks - the stop near the station will still be OK, but those who are thinking of having a look round the town first will need to keep an eye on this.

Even if it's not official I think as fans we should claim RDFC's history as that of our club, the same way Dons claim that of Wimbledon (and were given it) over the franchise.

Am I the only person worried our fans will go to St Notes for a season, enjoy the football and facilities and in a years time not come back to support our first team. :?:
