That's what the ICD's are there for.

I've had three shocks and each time you are physically fine a few seconds later and able to carry on, as the ICD firing knocks your heart out of it's abnormal rhythm and back into a stable pace. Emotionally it's a lot different.

It's not necessarily a warning as your heart doesn't behave as it should anyway but in his case I'd be hanging my boots up.

The adjoining village to one in which I live have purchased the old red telephone kiosk from BT, are refurbishing it, and one of the suggestions for future use is to instal a defibrillator.
