So non-members aren't allowed to travel?
I think the implication, at this stage, is that members should be able to discuss the potential logistical issues in a 'safe space', before any confirmed decisions are released in a wider forum.

I am sure Stamboy would happily discuss anything by PM on this board also?

Frankly, I'd be surprised if any non-members bothered to travel to Harrowby, at least without accompanying someone who is a member!
Yes all comments gratefully received. I just put it on the members forum as it seems some things like to be put on there not sure if for privacy purposes or whatever.

Non-members would be fine with me coming.

If I travelled to a game, I wouldn't be going with a member.
I'm exactly the same. Me and my mates are at Uni and quite frankly don't have the cash/time to be a member, but would be interested in coming to games when we're back!

My mistake, I assumed that membership was something that the vast majority of our fans were committed to in regards to paying for the new club's existence. If people support the club in other ways, then so be it.

That isn't meant as a dig, I was always a defender of those who didn't want to plunge money into the bottomless pit of the old club at certain times (i.e. on season tickets). My own views have changed considerably since it is now we who run the club and be assured of where club funds are going, and though I hope everyone does become a member because it can only benefit the club, I apologise for my assumption ;)

Lets hope we take a coach, though I couldn't commit to using it, and all credit to Stamboy for taking this on.

I can see both points of view of Everyweeker and Oundle Diamond

Some people want to come to the odd game be it for whatever reason (whether they are working away, can't afford to come to every game or have other commitments). I don't think we should discourage these people as we still want as many supporters as possible. Even neutrals who want to come to see the odd game should be encouraged.

Equally I think we do want to encourage people to join up and be members as membership money does benefit the club and this is the long-term aim - to build a club that is for the supporters and community.

I know other clubs/assocations charge non-members slightly more for travel and I think this could be an option that satisifes both. Since we do want to bring in revenue to the club via membership. And members themselves should have benefits of being a member.

Therefore just a suggestion we could charge non-members a couple of quid more. This then doesn't alienate or stop non-members from going.

This is something we need to think about and perhaps discuss at the Members Forum next week - would be an ideal time to vote.

What I would say is that I can't see us running many supporters coaches as I don't think the interest will be there for someone to pay £7 or £8 for a journey that might only be 12 or 15 miles away. I could be wrong though, but again we can only run it if there is enough demand to cover costs.

Unless.... a very big unless, the club is willing to subsidise supporters travel to a certain degree. But I don't think this is an option we want to consider if we are saving up for a new ground. Perhaps the odd subsidy (as a thankyou to supporters perhaps) but not everytime. ;)

The problem that you have is that demand for coach travel for these relatively short away trips will only appeal to those living in the Rushden and Wellingborough area. Anybody living 10 mile or more from Wellingborough will use their own transport for away travel. I certainly would not be in favour in any proposal for the club to subsidise part of the cost of the coach.

I don't think there should be any restrictions or any price increases depending on your member status. The more people that use this facility the better IMO, well done Stamboy for initiating it.

I agree, that was my preference not to subsidise it (as I do believe in self-funding and breaking even as an Accountant ;-) However, I'm not the person who decides on such things. Isn't it 1 member 1 vote?

I don't think we'd be honestly talking about running many coach trips. I'd be surprised and delighted if we managed 5 in a whole season, as looking at the fixtures there aren't that many trips that are far away (unless we get some cup draws) and it is the longer trips I think we'll have demand for.

Thanks BartonRaz, might come to nothing, might not be enough demand for a coach but I thought worth a go.

Everyone seems to be putting a great deal of effort in and I just wanted to help out as my DIY skills are not good !!!

I see you've put on the members forum that you'd like a PM by the end of the month from interested parties. Thought it was worth putting that on here as it'll get seen by more people.

Cheers Barton,

I intend to raise it at the members forum and perhaps get some posters done for Dale's bar, etc.
