Funny you say this Dunc, I was chatting to a bloke at work earlier (turns out theres 5/6 diamonds fans at my new job, all of which I've had a word with ;)) who supported R&DFC, and my dad strolled over, who was a massive Irthlingborough diamonds follower and like your dad, would never step in nene park after the merger, other than when I played there once. And i was absolutely gobsmacked when he chirped up with "Well, now they're not playing down there I dont see why I cant take in a few games." I couldn't believe it. He always use to say to me, "I can and never will stand side by side with those herberts from down the road, and listen to the chants of RUSHDEN, RUSHDEN." I'm gunna try get him to the Potton game!

It seems like we can almost use the fact we're still rushden and diamonds to our advantage, when maintaining the old fanbase, but also play the 'new club' card, when trying to attract those, who for whatever reason, did not agree with the idea of R&DFC.

Brilliant  8-)

Tony, surely if he's a Wimbledon fan living locally, ALL games are away to him ;) :D

Just having my morning tea and toast after having a lovely lay-in (thanks to Bobos who did the work required at the D&D this morning) and I'm getting butterflies in my tummy........could it be the matchday tummy that I've missed for so long? The anticipation of the away day?

Saturday football is back with a vengance and its great !! :D

Sun is shining here in Bedford at the moment, but if you can I'd bring a brolly, not much cover at Wootton.

Attendance hasn't been announced here yet but about 270 here I'd say, probably about 30 or 40 home fans, so nearly 250 away fans I think.

The tickets on the gate had got up to about 346 by half time, I was number 8 - and there were a lot more than 8 people when I got there (though they would mostly be those working at the club etc..).
