If that's the side they're heading into the season with then they're not going to be anything like as good as they were last season.

I've just seen the lineup for Diamonds and it almost looks like we've sent a reserve side up there with a few exceptions. No idea who the subs are.
Spoke to a Raunds player last night who has joined Cogenhoe for next season and said that Blackwood has signed for Cogenhoe also. Already mentioned on the forum is that Byrne has re-joined Desborough

Wizz had to work yesterday so missed the game. Would Star's and Peaksy have learned anything from Jack playing? Doubtful

What we have to remember is that this us Step 5, players rely on the goodwill of employers and workmates throughout the winter and the summer is pay back time.

Added to the fact that the game was on and off a couple of times then it's hardly surprising we put out the sort of team we did.

Stuart Smeathers who played for Sileby has joined the Doughboys along with Jason Turner.
So it does seem as Sileby's squad has broken up. Only a handful of players registered with the UCL. I wonder if Botterill will stay?

That news does make me wonder what the point of throwing money at last season was?

I think it's a one season ego trip for those that bankroll these clubs. Same could be said for Long Buckby and Holbeach. They havn't the infrastructure and fan base to proceed up the non-league pyramid. Will be interesting to see if St. Ives Town can continue to progress or fall back like Woodford United.

I did go to the game and after having spoke to a board member on thursday, I knew that a lot of players weren't available for saturdays game. It wasn't a secret but I still went and still had a good day out.

It was disappointing to lose i hate losing any game but i'd rather lose now then when the season starts, it was good to see a few of the fringe players, have a bit of a sing song the 30odd diamonds fans made themselves heard and the stadium was pretty impressive wasn't a fan of the pitch though.

The players are going to have holidays/work commitments etc during the summer i'd rather they were enjoying themselves or keeping their bosses happy during this time, so they'll all be available during the Fa Cup and Fa Vase games up and down the country and when we stay in London the night before the final!!! ;)
