Yes, wish Alfie all the best - AFC legend for us but that era is over now and we have our great memories. The K*ttering scouting team sure do like a Diamond - I assume they've renewed their season tickets at the D&D, possibly even taken up the reserved seating option in the Peter Ebdon stand.

Obviously they awarded Jake with a (rare for this level) contract last summer. Now Alfie's matched his goal tally for the club, I wonder what they'll be offering him?

It was obvious that the scouting was done under their noses when he played for BPW. If he and others, who have played for us, are considered good enough to play at the higher level, it is disappointing that we couldn't retain their services. :(

ONLY ONE No.1 = DR

May have to wait a little longer to differentiate between, considered good enough and actually playing at a higher level as to date I think those you refer to are.
Jake (Flamingo) Newman, 1 league goal in a season, sent out on loan to a team TWO leagues lower, after signing a contract in a blaze of glory.
Alfie Taylor, has just played 60 mins for them as a Trialist, though give him credit he got lots of goals for BPW in a lower league, & has caught Jake already. One of the originals & in the Clubs history.
Elliot Dent, bench warmed for a couple of months before also moving to a Club in a lower league, don`t know where he is now but sure you can inform me :o
Nat Tragic Lieburd, signed for them but being realistic has 2 chances of being a regular in their 1st team, Bob Hope & No hope.
With regards to the first 3, all great lads who I personally have a lot of time and respect for, I never was a fan of "the straight line runner" who is Nat.
It`s football times change and people move on, my only question would be, Is our current squad stronger than the one which included all of the above :?:

Spot on. Football is littered with players who sign for higher level clubs and end up 'not cutting the mustard'.

As for Alfie, good luck to the lad but I think IF they sign him then he might struggle to get a starting spot in their team. Time will tell.

It will always happen that players will move been the two clubs - as indeed it happened when both clubs (in past or present guises) were having better times - from Kevin Shoemake and Dougie Keast through to Darren Collins, Jon Brady, Gary Mills, Brett Solkhon, John Dempster etc. Let's just hope Alfie shows his former club the appropriate respect, so he can continue to be well-respected amongst Diamonds fans.

Not just players, I see our former U21's manager is now describing himself as a 'K*ttering Town Fan' on his twitter profile. I understand he was previously involved in the Ploppies Youth set-up before joining AFCRD.

Players will all find their natural level eventually. ;)
