The recent track record of UCL winners does imply that it's tough to win in your first season at the club. Without looking further back both Spalding and Holbech have won the league with a management team that were in place in the season or two before.

I would however be intruiged to go back a few more years thoguh to see if that thread is consistant.

That was also the case the previous two seasons with Botterill at Long Buckby and Greene at St. Neots.
