I think when he says 'be better for the experience' he means become better players for the experience of winning the league and narrowly losing to Posh.
'the lads need to push themselves to progress as footballers.' Here he is also referring to becoming better players.

Just about!
It just seems strange to me that he's more interested in the physical side of it than the technical, I thought as a country we were trying to get away from the "smash it to the big, quick kid up front".
Still what do I know.

I guess he wants them to be more physical to A) stop conceding set-pieces and B) to make them ready for the step up to men's football. I don't think Darren mentions the technical side of the game as much, because it's clear to see in the games they play that they're a good footballing team, and just need to be more physical.
