This is f***ing ridiculous, first Boxing Day without a huge game and now New Year's Day without a huge game, both days ruined and both clubs have now lost money, how on earth can the pitch be unplayable after we didn't think a pitch inspection was even needed!

Had really been looking forward to this year's Xmas double header as were both clubs I'm sure and now. I should imagine both crowds for the rearranged games will be close to HALF of what they should have been. So frustrated at the moment as I've only just found out, thought the lack of news on TOS meant it was going to be fine, and to think some Oxford fans were already at the ground! Very angry, although I don't know who at

The pitch was probably playable just after the covers were removed but as I posted above the temperature is only above freezing. In fact, I cleaned my car windscreen about 11 o'clock, in readiness for the drive to Nene Park, and just a couple of hours later it had frozen again.

Oh, well that explains it then, I suppose the temp was supposed to go barely above freezing today. Still don't know why we were so confident of it being on though. And we may not not be seeing Tommo again :(

I reckon if it had been an 11am kick-off, as often happened on Christmas Day, Boxing Day etc. years ago, we may have managed to play it.

I just find it a bit bizarre really. They will happily allow a game to continue in the summer on a rock hard surface, and during the rain when it's slippery underfoot, but we have a small section in one corner that's hard due to frost (according to Radio Diamonds) and it's a total wipeout. I would have thought that the sun being on two thirds of the pitch would have convected the heat eventually to thaw the area and once being used it would have softened.

I know it would be a bit soon, but could the game not be played tomorrow?

i've not been out but if this is right; feeling like -6 may freeze the ground up a bit quicker than we'd imagine. i'm no weather expert...
I wouldn't trust Metcheck it said we was going to have 360mph winds the other day

AFC Wimbledon have all but lost against Hayes & Yeading, which i think puts us 4 points off play-offs with 2 games in hand?
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Only slightly bad news of the day in terms of other games played is that Stevenage have won again. Although this means that Cambridge have not closed on us,, it does mean that catching Stevenage is further away. Probably good for us that it now puts more pressure on Oxford when we do come to eventually play them, as they are now no longer top, although they have a few games in hand.
