Whatever we think of him, Beck is a football man who's been involved in the game for a long time, so surely he has a modicum of understanding when it comes to the minds of the average football fan. There is no way on this earth that Rushden fans will will go and watch that shower, we've moved on, our club is still alive and doing very nicely thank you.

I think their bigger challenge will be trying to convince those who supported the previous incarnation of their club to come back. Despite the news this week being regarded as positive by those who are going to follow the 2012 version, there has been a complete lack of any noises from the likes of Simon De Choisy or other prominent ex-supporters that they will now come along to games at Nene Park.
