Yeah that is a bit odd.davealbon wrote:Interesting to see they have a friendly announced against Southend Manor, after they failed to pay them their share of the gate receipts for several months after their FA Cup tie last season.

Peace Money - don't push us for the interest or go to the FA to sanction us and we'll give you a friendly

Re: Desperate measures.....
Their Trust actually paid off that debt so this is probably a part of that in the hope they make a little money out of it.diamondgeezer1 wrote:Yeah that is a bit odd.davealbon wrote:Interesting to see they have a friendly announced against Southend Manor, after they failed to pay them their share of the gate receipts for several months after their FA Cup tie last season.

Re: Desperate measures.....
Interesting forums flying around the Southern Premier forum that Rolls rent cheque to KC (aka Rushden and Diamonds Supporters Trust...remember he bought the shares to the original trust to purchase the ground) has BOUNCED, and he has given them notice to leave NP!

Anybody else heard this rumour?

Aaahhhhh, the Ploppy saga just goes on and on, you couldn't make up half of what's happened to them in the last year or so. They don't even know who owns the ground they pay rent on....hilarious!

Re: Desperate measures.....
I see that even though they offered 100 free tickets to their Comedy Evening / Meet the Manager session last night they only managed to find 60 people interested enough to turn up.
Re: Desperate measures.....
Can anyone clarify something. I see that the Kettrin fans are dismissing this rumour out of hand simply because it refers to Rushden and Diamonds Supporters Trust as being the landlords. When the trust handed everything over to the KC, wasn't this done by him being made the sole member of the original Trust for reasons that I can't remember? If this is the case, is it not possible that the name of Rushden and Diamonds supporters trust as a legal entity is in fact still being used by KC as the owner and landlord of the ground. If so, then perhaps it would be as well not to just dismiss these rumours quite so quickly.
Re: Desperate measures.....
You are quite correct - that is what UttoDiamond means. KC had to take control in that way because of the constitution of the original Supporters Trust and the way the Griggs Group had given them all of the Nene Park assets (and a generous donation).luckyfour wrote:Can anyone clarify something. The Trust Board of the day then encouraged the members to allow this transfer to KC to go through, despite a group of us warning what might happen. One or two of the Trust Board members were also on the Club Board, and they were concerned about their potential liabilities of trading whilst insolvent, so what had seemed a prestige position quickly became a hot potato to them.
Re: Desperate measures.....
If anything then, I would suggest that the fact that the original rumour refers to Rushden and Diamonds Supporters Trust actually lends credence to the rumour if anything. If someone was just stirring it and making it up they wouldn't think to refer to the landlord as RDST - it would appear on the face of it to be absurd and therefore dismissed as some of their fans have written on these forums.

Exactly, it actually makes it more believable. Thus if i were a plops fan i would be worried despite the new signings announced so far. We all know RoLols doesn't have a pot to piss in and season tix sales have been poor. Where is the cashflow coming from to pay the massive rent?
