Re: Former Players
Heard Curtis Woodhouse on the Non-League Show - said he didn't want to give less effort to Sheffield FC than it deserved as manager, when he wanted to carry on giving full attention to boxing.
Not to bring up old wounds, but how Gary Hill ever thought that this half-interested, self-interested, clown was ever fit to hold the armband at our club is beyond me, and is one of the many ultimate indictments of Hill's failed tenure.
Woodhouse = joker at Diamonds

Re: Former Players
Also noticed his assistant is David Staff, another ex Diamond and the physio Chris Palmer is there as well.
Nice to see ex players and staff moving on to other things.
Great post Noddy

Re: Former Players
Have to say I'm surprised Rankine is still at a FL club, sure he had his strengths, was good in the air of course, provided that moment in the SS final and on his day (i.e Yeovil) he could be great, but still a donkey a lot of the time, didn't score many goals and I seem to remember him missing headers when there was no one around him! Never saw him as anymore than a conference player, but then again these things happen, just look at Greg Pearson, dreadful for us and then a couple of years later was scoring quite a few goals for Burton.

Re: Former Players
I thought Ranks was quality and was gutted when he left. Gave his all and his best every game and averaged something like 1 in 3. Our 10th highest goalscorer ever isn't he?
I see Sean Shields has got a move into the Football League. A youth team colleague of his when he was at R&D thought he'd be the next Tomlin.
