Desperate measures.....
Re: Desperate measures.....
The KFC site seems pretty dead, just a few notices, however notice they have some new members who were quite involVed with KTFC.

Re: Desperate measures.....
That would require their fans to get up off their asses and do something though, which at this moment in time, seems unlikely, they still think KTFC's problems will magically disappear.Formic wrote:The Poppies situation now seems to have become a mirror of what happened at Darlington.
- A chairman who keeps on saying he wants to hand the club over (but never quite does).
- A Supporters Group that hands over money to keep the club afloat only to find it would have been better investing this money into a new club
- A millstone ground that is far too big for the crowds attracted
- A Landlord at the ground that appears to have redevelopment motives.
- A club that has been through a CVA and yet still seems to struggle to pay bills, despite many creditors having already lost money.
- A team that doesn't get paid on time.
The Poppies fans need to form a new Supporters Group if they don't think their Trust is doing the right things, and then contact the Darlo Supporters and take their advice on how to avoid making the same mistakes they did.

Re: Desperate measures.....
Indeed. The other problem is KFC was set up by a group of fans, who were not in favour of the Nene Park move, but it wasn't done on a democratic basis and fronted by a person who many don't have any time for.
Re: Desperate measures.....
It seems the Poppies Trust and Ritchie Jeune were planning on moving K*ttering up the A43 in order to groundshare with Corby Town in an attempt to slash monthly outgoings.
Reading the threads on PoppyNet is looks like IL can only end the lease at Nene Park if K*ttering go out of business or if he finds a seller for the club.

If KFC is just going to be fronted by those few people who didn't like the NP move, rather than democratically elected like us, then they'll go nowhere.Trek wrote:Indeed. Exactly. Apparently the wheels were put into motion about a year ago but their plans to form KFC and field a youth team in the NSYL were only officially announced to other fans early this year.Sara Pascoe wrote:

There is zero unity amongst their fan base judging by discussions on Ploppynet.
Re: Desperate measures.....
Looks like the roots of a rebellion are starting to grow on PoppyNet.
Finally, there is serious talk of a boycott on Saturday.

Hardly, there are about 30 regulars on there, which won't make any difference. To get a proper boycott started they would need their Supporters' Trust to come out in favour of a boycott and get the ET involved to get the message out.Stalin wrote:Looks like the roots of a rebellion are starting to grow on PoppyNet.

Finally, there is serious talk of a boycott on Saturday.

I think its a starting point, nothing like this has been talked about before. Some fans on PoppyNet are finally opening their eyes to what the future really holds.Sara Pascoe wrote:Hardly, there are about 30 regulars on there, which won't make any difference. If talk of a boycott continues tomorrow and the groundswell is enough to catch the attention of the trust then it might just work.
Re: Desperate measures.....
Agree, there are only a handful of fans left on that forum....the club is dead. They have all just stood back and watched while the club has slowly died during the last 12 months. To many of them have had their head in the sand for way too long.Sara Pascoe wrote:
