Agree that there is not much more that they can do but surely they should be arranging a vote pdq to see exactly whether a boycott is wanted by the majority of members.discodunk wrote:such a course would only make sense if a majority of our members were looking to force the Club to fold

Re: Desperate measures.....
Would a boycott do anything? If Ladak wants the club to fold then he'll cite the boycott for causing the death. If Ladak doesn't want it to fold then they'll just limp on, he'll probably slash the budget, Beck will leave, any decent players will leave and they'll play out what happened last season, but from September, rather than January.
I think they're snookered, there's nothing that will get Ladak out apart from a huge wedge of cash and if their Trust did raise that they would be better of putting it towards KFC, however hard it might be to admit that KTFC is a lost cause.

I quite agree. It's full credit to their Trust that they've taken this action - and the earlier one of looking at Steel Park. I bet the guy who started the thread on Poppynet criticising them is feeling pretty foolish right now.Sara Pascoe wrote:Would a boycott do anything? Re: Desperate measures.....
Without the Trust collecting cash from the fans I don't see how they'll last the season until they're issued with a winding up order.
And I don't understand why anybody is asking Ladak to be open and honest about what's going on - he'll only lie. Again.

Re: Desperate measures.....
To be honest, if I was a K*ttering fan, god forbid, I'd want to remove the cancer from the club and if that meant boycotting every match in order to kill the Poppies off so a phoenix could rise from the ashes without Ladak then so be it.
I wish their fans would grow some balls and actually do something about the current situation, I might actually think something of them but as it stands they are just sitting in the stands watching their club die before their eyes and then when the day comes to start again they'll just fight amongst themselves and the club will never be reborn.

Re: Desperate measures.....
Whilst the current level of dissent from poppies fans is heartening there still remain those that continue to believe that the possibility the club will be sold is a real prospect. I found this gem on Poppytalk...
"625-675 only the minority are bothered about a "boycott", stopping one of the main incomes in to the club, that pays the players, utility bills, rent, fines, fees, travel etc etc makes sense how? Ultimately the payers wont get paid and will leave the club and it would be a repeat of last season.
Ladak does not want the club anymore and realistically isn't pocketing the takings from the gate...so why would a boycott bother him? He can pull out at any given time and let the club fold....the guy obviously lost heart when he couldn't succeed in relocating the club within K*ttering from the decaying Rockingham Road after troubles with the council as did PM. The same will occur with any future chairperson with the exact same problems. The real problem was created when RR was sold...
The move to NP was rushed and created more problems especially as the state of the ground after RDFC collapsed, so with the trust and Riche wanting to take the club future afield still to Corby with no real backers or income, poor facilities and no venue to hold any events creating extra revenues how would this solve any problems? This doesn't sound like a progressive football clubs strategy.
NP is an amazing facilities that has to be maximized to its full potential, from events held at the ground, hospitality packages, and even creating a perfect match day experience for all fans for this to succeed, so many simple things could be done to make this work and all pull in the same direction. So boycotting the club, people walking away from the club, some who haven't or will never step foot in NP because its NP....do they really have the clubs interests at heart?
When IL sells the club...will the fans that walked away come back? will Poppynet just think of other rummers to corrupt the club and fans? Will the dated Trust man up with fresh ideas? So if these glory "supporters" have no interest in helping the club they should stay away and devote there Saturday afternoons to KFC or K*ttering Rugby Club....KTFC is at Nene Park for the foreseeable future, the club will be sold eventually, protests should be made in the form of organized majority events (delay kick off for 5min by entering the stadium late, written letters of complaint to the club and IL, a sit in after the game has finished, potations, letters to NLP and other national medias about the situation) and people should get over their pride and help the club & trust in any and every capacity possible.
So yer, to sum it up 625-675"

Of course sweat the facilities, why didn't everyone who tried to make Nene Park work before think of that?
Simples.

Down to 526 today with the media reporting it as another abysmal match.ChorltonV wrote: "625-675 only the minority are bothered about a "boycott"
The next game will take attendance into the 400's.
Re: Desperate measures.....
I know they have stayaways and boycotters but it is still nice we were able to get over 200 more than them last Saturday despite being 3 levels below them. Though it will be interesting to see what sort of attendances we can consistently get over the season.
