No matter how boring he is on twitter (IMO that's a great measure of how NOT to use twitter), he would tear this level apart with his movement and game reading alone, forgetting his ability to ping cross field balls etc. Not saying we don't already have enough, but he'd make a great addition to sit behind a front pairing in the centre of midfield. Imagine the technical ability of him and Aaron King together.

Probably also bring a few more ex-R&DFC fans from the glory years through the gates too. Would be quite a big local media story. Guy who won the conference and Div 3 with the old club signing up as a player. Could also be useful for helping to develop the players we have too.

The trouble is (for me anyway), he lives all the way up north, and I wouldn't want to get him in on some ridiculous expenses, because that would be going beyond our remit as a club. So to get him in, he would have to move down here, and of course get a job down here. And I don't see that as a highly likely option - to uproot your family to play UCL football (whichever division).

In short, I'd love him to play for us, but only in the right circumstances.

Bang on, Jemfy.

If anybody on here seriously thinks he wouldn't get in our side then this forum has sunk to an all time low. ;)

The argument is irrelevant anyway as is he playing for anyone at the moment? In Semi-retirement isn't he? Think he's more focused on his coaching, so no, I don't think he would "walk into the team."

I see Aidy Mann (45) played 90mins for Rushden & Higham Utd in their midweek defeat at Harrowby United due to a shortage of players.

Kinda agree with this, as much as he's a legend, he comes across as a bit of a cock on Twitter IMO.
Perhaps he does a bit, but I always enjoy seeing his 'hendersonwatch'
I find that a bit strange tbh. He's taking the piss out of a player who might not be the best but is still working hard enough to establish himself at Premier League level and international level. Compare that to Burge's application and the fact that he should've played in the Championship but didn't come close.

He'd probably do well in the middle for us, I remember watching a few games where he was absolutely class in the centre of midfield in League Two/Conference.

Jon Hamsher has left Chipstead. He doesn't look quite so fresh-faced but i'd definitely recognise him if he walked past me.
