Stamford AFC are planning to move to a new ground, on the edge of town on a larger site, where they can accommodate their increasing number of youth and community teams.

There has, however, been some problems at Board level, after Chris Rivett's effort to take over was rejected and he has left his position as Chairman.

Will be interesting to see how things develop next season at the Daniels.

Chasetown are local to me so a bit sorry to see them lose out. They had a great run after Christmas when they came from 17th I think to pip a playoff spot in the last game of the season. As Tony says think they were just knackered after the run they were on.

Big losers in that division were Coalville, long time league leaders, who were hunted down by King's Lynn and then imploded in the playoffs losing to Chasetown.

That looks awful IMO, it has all the appeal of a doctors surgery and that's £5 million? What a waste, I'd expect an awful lot more and a football stadium that looks & "feels" like a football stadium.

I can't argue with that and 1,500 capacity does look on the small side leaving little room for an expansion of the Stamford's fan base although I think the design may be influenced by the other two partners to this development, Stamford New College and Burghley PT, who may be bringing more money to the table.

Not a former player, but Lee Power has pitched up at Swindon.

Lee Power rocks up at Swindon eh.
Time to splash the cash and bet that Swindon go down next year.
