Well that's superb, however others really don't give a flying shit. I can just imagine the scene, England have just won the World Cup, the pundits are going mental, the press are printing special editions however the public are ****ing outraged and refuse to celebrate this achievement because before the game started the players forgot (or couldn't be arsed) to put their hands on their chests...
I think you are missing the point here..............I only asked a question. The sign of Fidelity shows the World that a person is true to his/her country whilst that person's National Anthem is being played. Many people feel under pressure to sing, others feel so emotional that they can't. This one act circumvents all others.

This gesture which goes back to the days of King Solomon's Temple, has been adopted and adapted over the ages and is now seen by millions as the ultimate expression of true faith to ones flag, ones National Anthem and ones Country. Its masonic origins were quickly taken up by the USA, even their architecture and money are covered in 'The all seeing Eye' - The Square & Compasses etc. Their patriotism knows no bounds...... thats why they are ultra successful. Even Military salutes come from the same sources, as a sign of respect by a true physical gesture. Surely, you wouldn't take that away too?

Your reply, whilst quite comical, just shows an over reaction to what I deemed as a sensible question to ask.

I am English - I am Proud to proclaim it - It is the second greatest thing I believe in after my family.

I for one WILL continue to cover my heart when I hear MY countries Anthem...... I will be proud that the World acknowledges my sentiments. Mine is not just World Cup euphoria, my love of Country is one of my staple beliefs, there others even on this thread that think the same, and for that I Thank God. CLICK

I'm sure you all saw the mass Internet myths about people finding England flags offensive blah blah, and it seemed it had all been a lie.

Well:

A housing estate in Cambridge have forced residents to take them down as they are deemed 'offensive'.

Simply can't believe it.

Whilst I agree that the Americans are highly patriotic, the hand on heart thing is something all Americans have to do by law:

Whilst respecting the arguments on both sides, I think it should be up to the individual. For me, the hand on heart thing is an American custom, although certainly some countries have adopted it. Half the England team weren't singing along to God Save the Queen against the USA, which, again I see as being up to individual, but I would have thought would be a bigger issue.

Actually there is a great deal of debate about this depending where you look. A numbers of source like the one I've attached below claim that only 9 of the 56 that signed the US Constitution were Freemasons.

If you want to debate the US Constitution, let's do it somewhere else since this is to do with World Cup betting. ;)

Knowing my luck it probably will, but after watching Argentina in their last game I can just feel there's gonna be goals.
