At the end of the day, football is a results business. It's a good job we had a reasonably successful start of the season, or else we would find ourselves in a relegation battle as early as now.

Unfortunately Everyweeker we're a football club, so yes, losing to Altrincham is important.
According to you then, we can continue playing as badly as yesterday for the rest of the season and it doesn't matter. It might not matter to you, but it will matter to the chairman and the manager when we're in a relegation battle with 500 coming through the gate on a saturday.

I'm not saying its not important, its just that people now seem to suggest that the mere mention that the death of Dale might be a reason for the poor results of late is just some silly excuse - its not, and its something that will take time to get over.BartonRaz wrote:Unfortunately Everyweeker we're a football club, so yes, losing to Altrincham is important.

I didn't see a lack of commitment from the players yesterday, and a few silly mistakes and some superb goalkeeping kept us from gaining at least a point. This is a short-term blip of results, we're not going down and it will turn around into a midtable season, people need to relax just a little bit and hope that the Trophy brings some excitement, success and perhaps even money in later rounds.
500 through the gates and a relegation battle? DO PEOPLE NOT REMEMBER HOW BAD IT WAS UNDER HILL?!?!?!?!?!? This is nothing like that - lets get some perspective!

Yet under Hill we were probably getting better attendances than the back end of last season - our most successful season in years.

Economy, and successful or not, the tired looking stadium and average matchday experience for fans (crap food, over-priced, no half-time or pre-match entertainment) will mean that one off visits are precisely that.BartonRaz wrote:Yet under Hill we were probably getting better attendances than the back end of last season - our most successful season in years.

That short statement pretty much summed up what I was trying to say.

Proves what you're all about really, absolutely no substance in what you say and when you're proven wrong you turn into a grammar Nazi, same with the lad in that other thread.[/quote]mattreddan wrote:rudolph_hucker wrote:Get a grip, I didn't say they was....mattreddan wrote:

I wasn't actually proven wrong, unless the rules have changed and you get given points for having games in hand :?

I'm not a grammar nazi as you put it. I just love it when simple English is ignored in a rant. As for the other lad, I was under the impression that you needed to be at least 13 to use this forum, if that is the standard of English that 13 year ols have then the country is DOOMED.

Even more worrying is that 'the other lad' is 18/19..rudolph_hucker wrote: I wasn't actually proven wrong, unless the rules have changed and you get given points for having games in hand :?I'd give up while your losing it.

Well played.rudolph_hucker wrote: if that is the standard of English that 13 year ols have then the country is DOOMED.
...and yes, you was proven wrong. I didn't once say they were points on the table... if anything... I suggested they are POSSIBLE points... which is correct.

Don't flare this up again, its so pointless and boring.
