Tbh I have no idea why students should get a discount. After all in most cases, they will be better off eventually for being a student! I wouldn't mind the creation of an age bracket where everyone whether they be students/workers/nothing pay the same price! And I'm saying that as a student!

Shame I couldn't make the fans forum, would have liked to have raised the issue.

Students don't earn a full-time wage, so on the majority won't have the money to pay for an adult price week in, week out.

Bristol City have recently announced that they are doing away with their 18-23 (or something like that) season ticket for next season because there was only 13 people have one this season. I will try and get some information on what the latest on this is, as I know there was quite a few moan about it - even though they weren't from that age bracket.

How about Season Ticket Holders getting say 5 free tickets in there booklet, for the season, which gets someone in with them for free for the game of there choice plus a free programme...

You'd also have everyone picking games against Luton/Grimsby/Cambridge/K*ttering. Whether you regard that as a problem or not is a personal opinion.

I have a way of combatting both of those though. Perhaps the club could list 5 or 6 as catagory A games, whereby the prices remain the same but ST 'vouchers' can't be used. Also, when you trade these vouchers in for tickets at the ticket office, you must give your details, so that you can only purchase 2/3 free tickets in a season?

What about just allowing them to be traded in for cup games? many ST holders don't go to them as their outside the normal season. And realistically how many home cup games will there be (including FA cup and Triophy) around 4-5 i'd say..

Im a student and at the moment i couldn't afford £10 entry let alone the whole £17. if students are going to come they would want a cheaper ticket

I do think that looking at how higher tiered teams structure their ticket pricing according to the status of the games could be a good idea, we did laugh when K*ttering did something similar, but as someone posted previous people wouldnt/dont want to pay £17 for teams like Hayes & Yeading! This might not be a financially viable idea for the club but could generate some interest among fans if prices were even dropped to £15 or £14 for such a game.

Also for a lower end game, season ticket holders could be aloud a +1 to increase attendances and hopefully interest some people in coming back as for a lower end game there should be more goals to see

Could be an interesting turn on things and get a good PR Campaign for it as it's something different than price structuring at the beginning of the season.

What do people think about the club saying something like ''When we play a side at home that are in the bottom 6 of the league (when we play them), tickets are £12 for adults''.

Could be an interesting turn on things and get a good PR Campaign for it as it's something different than price structuring at the beginning of the season.

It could be a logistical nightmare though. Consider if a team plays on a Saturday and drops into the bottom 6 then has to play us on the Tuesday. Re-arranged games could also be problematic if you've already brought a ticket at the higher price. Nice idea, but practically difficult to do I'm afraid.
I don't think K*ttering saw any improvements to their gates by having category games, and in principal I think it's a poor system.

In principal maybe, but it has worked and continues to work for teams around the country, the only thing being they are all higher league teams! It has been proved in the past that tickets being given to schools doesn't really work as well as it did, just really resulting in the existing young fans gettig a free ticket, I honestly believe an open day, stadium tours, mini fans tournaments in the sports and exhibition centre might generate publicity ( all on a voluntary basis). And the season ticket holders +1 game would definately raise the clubs profile!!

Okay ;) ...

No my idea was not that Students should pay adult prices but there should be a reduced price not just for students but for an age bracket, as it reduces the issue of proof that you're a student and in my eyes makes it fairer.
