Re: Administration imminent?
Probably the most sensible post of the night Welsh. I agree to all of what you are saying. There seems to be no immediate guarantee of any short term cash to prop up the PBDevs business until it really starts going up.
There must be some "start-up" funds available, but these will surely go into the PBDevs business, and not necessarily the football club. If these guys are not careful, the FC will be sacrificed for the other business, before these is any time for "synergy."
Unfortunately we have major assets in the land and ground around the stadium which would interest property developers particularly with the Government's recent announcement on relaxing planning laws, and start-up developments.
If we do go to admin, will be people out there willing to invest in a club, where clearly there it is a struggle to pull the fans in. Reduce ticket prices to £10 might bring an extra 200-300 in a week, but is that enough to sustain full-time football?
I'm almost inclined to think about starting off again, go part-time, and thus reduce outgoings, and at the same time reduce ticket prices and get the grass roots supporters in - pensioners, youngsters and the like.
Let's aim at the "dormers", the closet Arse or Spurs fans in the area, everyone knows "live" footie is better than TV footie. Properly get out into the schools, give 500+ free tickets away to people in Welly, Irthlingborough, Rushden, Raunds and Finedon.

I am sorry to say I checked them out when they took over and posted that they had no real money behind them the father is a bankrupt and the son may have hopes but not enough suBstance to support our club. However we must ask ourselves why should they or anybody else put up their own money in the current climate,we do not have enough income to support the club in it's current set up Nene park is becoming an Albatross around our neck

Re: Administration imminent?
Does anyone know the situation with NP? Who actually owns it, and is there really a covenant on the ground for football purposes only?

Re: Administration imminent?
Doesn't KC still own the ground? I thought the Beasants only had an option to buy, KC (Co....... or he who must not be mentioned) owns the ground still?

Cousins still owns the facilities (the owners have an option to buy these off him in the next three years) and there's a covenant until 2013.UttoDiamond wrote:Does anyone know the situation with NP? Who actually owns it, and is there really a covenant on the ground for football purposes only?

I think we all checked them out mac, and came to the same conclusion (although I'm not sure he is technically a bankrupt any longer) .......we just hoped for the best !!mac wrote:I am sorry to say I checked them out when they took over and posted that they had no real money behind them the father is a bankrupt and the son may have hopes but not enough suBstance to support our club.

I think that's right, Piggers. I doubt anyone was naive enough to think we had blank cheques and, to be fair, the new owners were clear that the funding was based on the success of a new business venture on site. However, it was fair to assume there was something in the pot to keep things going in the meantime. To have rumours within 2 months of ownership of unpaid players and a transfer embargos was not in the script.PigmanRDFC wrote:I think we all checked them out mac, and came to the same conclusion .......we just hoped for the best !!mac wrote:I am sorry to say I checked them out when they took over and posted that they had no real money behind them the father is a bankrupt and the son may have hopes but not enough suBstance to support our club.

What I can't abide is that from the very start that these chancers took over the club nearly everything they have said or promised has turned out to be complete bullshit. The supporters of R+D, like those of most non-league clubs, are generally pretty decent local people who extended goodwill to them and had reasonably open minds and best hopes for the various "plans" they have talked about. If only these guys had had the decency to be honest about things in return.
For the first time since R+d was formed, neither I or my father will be buying a season ticket. I've never been this despondent about the future of the club.

Yeah, the majority of them will be loving it which is a bit ridiculous really. I can honestly say as much as I don't like that sh*tty horrible little club, I would NEVER want to see them go bust, no football fan should want that on any other club. Plus, I'd definitely miss the great thing about football, a proper rivalry, it will always be better than our rivalry with the Wobblers cause we're both very similar in size and fanbase and it feels so good to beat themPigmanRDFC wrote:The annoying thing is we're giving these wankers entertainment ;)

I would have thought they had enough of their own problems to worry about.

I'm worried but we don't know the whole picture yet, its obvious we're not in good shape financially , we haven't been for a while, things like the lack of home shirts in the shop for the past year show that, but it all seems a very strange to be happening so soon after LB took over and all the optimism at the fans forum, looking at the fans forum thread from only 3 weeks ago, I see we were apparently in 'a sound financial situation' :?
I certainly had my doubts about it all as it seemed to be a bit to good to be true but was that all rubbish or something?!! Our best hope is that this is similar to that situation we had a few years ago when GH put half the team on the transfer list, this place went crazy and we were all sure that that was it but we'd got the wrong end of the stick but obviously with the source of the rumour I feel that this may not be the case this time.
