Who supports a stadium though? You don't see Emirates Stadium supporters or Old Trafford supporters. You support the club, the stadium is just where you play, it might hold sentimental value but if you move somewhere else then that's just it, you support the club, you don't stay supporting the stadium. Arghhhhh, this whole thing is making me lose any sanity I had left!davealbon wrote:It seems our support is split between people who see Rushden & Diamonds as the name, the shirt, the badge and all that those things symolise, and those who see Rushden & Diamonds as a club who occupy the terrific facilities at Nene Park.

I would love to see a club set up, named something like 'Rushden and Diamonds Football Club' play in front of 400 true, loyal Diamonds fans, play at some dump with a rope round the pitch in the UCL, play in white, with the keys and lion on the crest, with the number one jersey retired, probably watching amatuerish players who have been out the night before, enjoy the occasional cup-run in the Vase/Trophy and being able to go in a run down clubhouse with photos and memories of our success. Cos atleast then it would be my club, it'd be OUR club.
That is not TRUE, the Trust is NOT against a pheonix club but will YOU step forward and start it ? No, I didn't think so and neither will I (as a Trust member), cos I haven't the time nor experience. Neither does the vast majority of the membership, even those who voted for it. Neither does it currently have the funds to start one.Sara Pascoe wrote: I know it won't happen because we've got nowhere to play but it would feel right, even if it was in a low league, it would feel right. However, since our own Supporters Trust are against a phoenix club and just want to watch some football at NP what can we do?
Well said mate, I don't happen too hate K*ttering Town as much as some of the rest of our fans, i don't particually like much about them atall, but my Grandad used too be the "Graham" of K*ttering for years before his death, many times i was round his when fans rang too book a place on a coach for away games, we used to have abit of banter after i chose to support Diamonds, despite him insisting i should join him at rockingham road instead but i made my choice over 15 years ago and i'm not about to settle for second best.TwinkleToesTomlin wrote:Id rather burn Nene Park down than watch K*ttering Town play there, lets face it.. its not going to be a merger. Its going to be K*ttering Re-Locating to NP and us just brushed aside. And if thats the case I wish nothing but misery and failure to Cousins, Ladak, the 'new club', and so called diamonds supporters going to watch it.
I NEVER thought id say this but I actually feel sorry for true the K*ttering fans aswel, however much I hate them.

You're entitled to your opinion, I disagree with it totally. But if merger is the option decided upon in the long run it'll be without me and yes, I would rather have nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon than share the PDB Terrace with a bunch of supporters I have no respect for.PigmanRDFC wrote:
I just simply cannot understand the single minded stubborness of some of you, and hope you enjoy sitting at home with the Mrs on a Saturday afternoon with nothing to do, no football to watch and an edgy uncomfortable feeling that your stupidity was one of the factors contributing to that.
