I changed my seats today and felt bloody annoyed about it. The club have made this decision to maximise their revenue, which in some ways is fair enough in these straightened times, but by dressing this up as some kind of safety issue and failing to even attempt to win over these (most loyal) supporters to the idea smacks of indifference and possibly even contempt for their feelings.

Why not sweeten the pill for the affected fans by at least some form of apologetic gesture such as a free programme or car park space on the night? Not enough imagination.

I can understand the concerns of those in the North Stand, if i was made to move from my seat in the South Stand which i have had since 2000, i would probably feel agrieved too.

But look on the plus side. That extra 40k (or whatever it is) could fund a new player, could ensure we can offer people like Osano, Robinson and Byrne new deals. I'd give my left bollock to have this team here next season, let alone my seat.

The only way i will be thoroughly pissed off is if the game means something. I hope for everyones sake, fans, players and whoever made this decision that that isn't the case and we are already safe in the play-offs. Whilst i understand what people are saying about how we could beat them at their gaff so we can beat them at ours, but im convinced if that game meant something it would be our biggest home attendance for years.

It'll be strange hearing some noise coming from the North Stand, can't remember the last time I heard anything coming from there ;).
Plenty of noise when they're leaving and they flip the plastic seats up. ;)
Get fed up with fans from other parts of the ground forever knocking Northstanders.

Do we need tickets for the De Banke?

Very reluctantly phoned to change our tickets today at 12:30, only to be told the ticket office wasn't open - apparently nobody there to man it..? So need to try again on Monday.

One question I have is, if I refuse to change my seat can the club legally sell it to a Luton fan i.e.sell the seat twice..?

It's been advertised both on the OS and on the door of the shop for about a month that it would be closed on certain dates, including today. Should be open Monday though.

Probably nothing the club would be able to do, but look at it like this, given the trouble that occured at Cambridge earlier in the season if (and it's still if) anything did happen, it would be at your own risk for having remained in those seats.

I understand you being annoyed about it, but it is for one game only and as well as for finances is being probably being done to make it less likely some of the Luton lot will try and get in other parts of the ground. The only reason for doing it to the North Stands is probably because it will be easier to police than the blocks in North and South near the AirWair.

Mea culpa - missed the notices about ticket office closure.
Been to previous Luton games sitting in the N Stand and any Luton fans were moved on to the Airwair, bit of a rumpus but added to the atmosphere.
Are we saying that a few Luton thugs are determining our clubs decisions?

This year though, they seem to be a bit more fanatical, in otherwords more determined to go to away games. I wouldn't think the club's decisions are being determined by Luton's more undesirable elements, but policing costs, the financial offer from Luton and possibly even police advice have also probably had an effect. As others have said, it's for one game only, so let it pass this time.

For the first game with Luton there was a fight in the N Stand before kick-off to the right of the press-box, followed by a more serious incident in the toilets at Half-Time - with that resulting in a charge of assault (I'm not sure what the outcome was). The police weren't able to move all of the Luton Fans in the N Stand as the Airwair was full.

The shop / ticket office is also closed on Wednesday - http://www.thediamondsfc.com/page/HomeT ... 10,00.html

Won 8 - 0 today...expect having over half our ground, will only make things that much more easier for them.
