I absolutely detest players running in and getting involved. In this particular game the result was already decided and the referee was already going for his pocket. The issue for me is that considering this ongoing poor behaviour seems not to be a problem for the management of the first team, presumably they're fine with all the younger teams displaying the same levels of belligerence and confrontation?

I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only "winging (sic) old git" on here, and that no one else seems to share your infantile opinion.

There's a difference between having passion and pointlessly getting into scuffles. Whilst it shows that the team are close as a unit when these things happen and that they've got eachothers back, there are so many times we could've stayed out of it and avoided cards. It is getting a bit silly now, the scuffles are far too frequent and there needs to be more discipline in the team to stay out of these situations - It's not like they're new to playing the game, these things should be sorted out by now.

I should imagine the couple on here who think going all rocky on opponents are in the minority. It has been mentioned before that the fantastic position were in, it wouldn't be to much for the southern league to announce a 2-3 points deduction as the club is already on a warning.. As this will be a majorly close race to top spot, a reduction is the last thing the club needs. If the play offs happen then fair enough, but let's not go through them on the basis of a punishment!

If anyone want`s a good comedy read the official Aylesbury match report should bring a smile to the face of anyone who was at the game. Apparently though we had plenty of procession early on we created no real chances whereas Aylesbury did create a couple of opportunities to take the lead so the game I thought we should have been 3/4 up by half time must have been a different one, it would appear all 3 clear penalty shouts never happened, Stevo`s goal was ok rolled it in the bottom corner, but the first Aylesbury goal was, wonderful, fantastic, brilliant and more. Anyone confused by the description of an early Diamonds chance just change Richards for Shanks and it will make sense. I know you would expect a home report to be a little biased but this one is a bloody joke.

Aylesbury published 83 photographs and judging by the content you would have formed the impression that they'd won 2-0 if you didn't actually know the match score.

The Non-League Paper headline was "Rudd Shines For Diamonds" (or something like that), and the MOM was Rudd (Diamonds).

Rudd scored Aylesbury's first goal.

Yes I read that as well, he was Aylesbury`s best player by a mile, which made him about the 8th best player on the pitch. "Rudd is Diamonds star of the show" but they had him down as getting the Aylesbury. Presume the report the paper used came from Aylesbury and the Editor presumed anyone who was that good must have been on the winning side. Claudio also headed home a poor back pass for our 4th goal. Looks like Aylesbury FC couldn`t get anything right as they were also accidently :cheesy: selling sweets from multi packs marked Not to be sold from the tea hut.

An interesting approach to match reporting!!

We try and be as balanced as we can and I've been critisised for talking up the opposition too much but I think it's right to give a fair reflection of the game and give at least something for away fans to latch on to. Our match reports are sometimes circulated by the opposition teams and even used in their subsequent programmes (with our permission) and I'm sure that happened at Oadby last year....

It might be worth clarifying what happens with the Non-League Paper though. They ask the home team to provide a 100 word report (which can be a challenge when you win 8-1 and there is a sending off and have to have it in by 6.00!!) plus name a star player and give the game an entertainment rating out of 5. Our match reporter for the day does it for our home games which is Ollie or myself and sometimes Tony.

You do have to identify which team the star man plays for though!! As with most press the headline is written by the sub-editor and I think he's seen Rudd identified as man of the match, assumed he must be from Diamonds (why wouldn't he be in a 4-2 win) and written his headline.

Happy days...
