However, I do agree that losing to a team of University students is very embarrassing, we’ll be in for a long season if performances and results continue like that.

About 3/4 months ago peaksy had us in a playoff charge, Ty was at the club scoring goals because of peaksy, his contacts his experience. Change of manager going to result in going for playoffs to hope we can stay up, so manager is a huge part.

If I remember we was told pre season would start day after last game of the season, yet here we are with what looks like an under manned 7 aside team. All these directors of who knows and we don’t even have 11 players down for the season, essential in my books. I don’t know how we can go from the squad of last season to talking about loans to build a squad, not like we are plugging in the odd gap. We need to get a squad together before we’re shipping 3 points fielding youngins. I’d be positive if we had any good news, but we’re getting treated like the fish in a chip shop this pre season, and club are radio silence on signings.

Will be getting trialist 9 on this seasons shirt at this rate!

To be honest, Rushden and Higham would probably start favourites in that game if it had still been in place!

Burge has 24 days to get his squad right - so still time - but admittedly time is running out. I accept that he's had to rebuild the squad and that is no easy task when you appear not to have the type of contact book that Peaksy has. maybe Burge could use his Luton links to get some loan players in?

Now that Will Jones has left, my main concern is what will happen with Nathan and Sneds who are yet to sign up again. We cannot afford to lose 2 of our best players but equally we will need to attract some good players to assist with our attempt to retain them.

I have yet to see us play pre-season so cannot/wouldn't comment on any of the 3 new players that have signed. However, one thing for certain is that the score on Saturday is less important than getting the balance and shape of the team set up properly.

As I say, still time for Burge to sort this out - and I sincerely hope he does - but I will be looking closely at our twitter page in the next 24 days to see if
any more signings are made.

Lots of talk again but very little action unfortunately.
I for 1 am extremely worried at where we're at currently.
🤞🙏 we can sort this out ASAP
Ricky I knew he was referring to that anyway . When he said he needs men out there being he needs to get them in

We need to have nearly a squad in 2 weeks min. As we need to have at least 2-3 good training sessions . I don’t mind getting 1 player in the last week but seriously…

Burg so far I think out of 16 games (not including hillier) 4W 5D 7L. Let me know if that’s wrong

You've been sent by Peaksy on a wind-up, surely.

At the risk of sounding like I’m from the echo chamber according to my chum Simon.
Peaks has limited contacts (something many have pointed out on here) and it’s showing in his signings for Tamworth. Collard, Bully, AJ, Deacon, Fairlamb, and wouldn’t be surprised if more arrive with previous associations with us.

He’s signed two or three not from us, they could possibly have signed for us had Peaks still been at the club.

I think Peaksy did have contacts but mostly local as casting his net far and wide was pointless as we couldn’t compete with other clubs and wages. Not many players would travel over an hour for games and training without decent wages. Peaksy worked with what he had and did a fantastic job, knowledge of local players was excellent and he was able to unearth players like Collard, Deacon, Nathan who made the step up and excelled al whilst being in our budget. Peaksy now has a total different scenario to play with at Tamworth, maybe limited local knowledge but lots of money to spend but that will change over the season as he gets to more games in the Coventry/Birmingham area. I don’t get the criticism of signing Dolman, Collard, Fairlamb etc as we probably would all go for them if we wanted to build a winning team and they are familiar with each other. Burge on the other hand has contacts but I’m not sure on the local scene where we need to unearth the next Deavon or Collard. I’m hoping He will be able to use his contacts to get loan players in as we are at least 6 experienced players short at the moment.

I wasn’t criticising the signings of Dolman, Collard etc. I think it was common knowledge that they'd eventually follow Andy Peaks, likely would have been sooner, but there was limits in place to how many players a team could sign from another team in the same league, something like one player every three months, Peaks had the players to work with, and was willing to wait until he could approach the players all at once.
