Too true - especially when even the Poppies fans saw through the previous scheme (or at least the poster at the bottom of the thread did) - http://www.poppynet.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13647Pigman wrote:Their challenge will be to convince parents that their money will go on their Academy, and not into the black hole that is KTFC's accounts - especially if "he who cannot be named" is still involved in the club. Such a contrast to the way ours is run eh?

Some more money for the Poppies to find - http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/desboroug ... 34111.html
I wonder if Mr Ladak will hand this over to the FA personally - we know how much he likes dealing with them. ;)
Its interesting that Byrne preferred a Step 6 club over the Poppies.

They are a funny bunch. They don't seem to be too concerned about their winding up order, or the fact that nothing seems to be happening regards Latimer Park. You've only got to look at what our committee did to set up working parties to work on the Dog & Duck from the first day we'd agreed the deal to play there to see what they should be doing (and they need to upgrade Latimer Park two levels on top of that). They seem to think it will all get done by a one or two volunteers while they wait for Mr Ladak, Mr Cousins, HMRC, Northants BC etc to write off the monies that they are owed.discodunk wrote:not all doom and gloom from ktfc fans, not sure about the nene park thought ;) .

R and D are an ambitious club and will not be happy until they are back in the Football League, they will not be able to do that with the regular flooding issues at the D & D. NP is the perfect answer, but unlike us I suspect they will not make the move until they are ready - perhaps in 2 or 3 seasons time.
That has actually made me guffaw out loud! I love it when other clubs' fans think they know more about our club than we do. "Fred" needs to realise that we don't have shady, silent owners like KTFC, we, the fans, would have to vote to go back to NP and there's noooooo way that we would go back into that money black hole.

He's not by any chance 'big ace' on the SL forum as well is he, cause if he is, that would make a lot of sense, its fair to say some of the posts he posted on there a while back were quite optimistic amidst the crisis that saw them teetering on the brink :lol:Trek wrote:Fred is the lad that I think used to post as 'The Real Ace' on Poppynet until he got banned. ;)
The idea that anyone would think we'd want to go back to that place is beyond insane and it always bemuses me how people think because of our fanbase and the old club's history of the FL that we're a shit or bust club until we get back there, like everyone else at the club I'm very happy with the current mentality of sustainability at our club and would be worried if it was any different, even if it meant we had to spend another few seasons at least in the UCL.

I was actually told of a rumour that we are heading back to Nene Park, but I told the person who told me, that it was a load of rubbish.
Despite the history, no one in their right mind would vote for us to go back there.
