You'll notice if you read the match report that they were openly flouting the competition rules regarding substitutes - getting players to swap shirts, and clearly were unhappy with that 3 sub rule. Whether they'd have been thrown out had they won the game isn't clear.

They are not the only team that have been flouting that rule! We were pretty sure that Shrewsbury did it the other night against us, and the Ilfracombe goal-keeper told us they had done it against them! To be fair though, its a pretty daft rule anyway, and I should hope that if we come back next year, they will have reverted back to the old rules, or simply use international rules.

And Luton lost 3-0 to Alfreton.

2-1 to Corby

2-0 at HT and we were flattered by the scoreline. We managed to miss an open goal after McKenzie rushed out and then for Dempster's goal it was a foul so should not have stood.

Players are overweight and out of shape ... there's no team shape .... oh well welcome JPM your fitness levels will be ok!

One more game behind closed doors and then Gateshead. Anyone quote a price on no more than three points on the board after six games?

Cheers!

Trying to bring this thread back on topic. Shrewsbury won their semi-final then withdrew from the competition due to their growing injury list.

It does make a bit of a mockery of tourmanent when teams pull out like this although it is understandle when the new league season is round the corner. I throughly enjoyed the week down there and would recommend it to anyone, just a shame the weather was shit! It was good to meet some other lads down there who i know by face but spoke to for the first time. I hope your ankle is better big Steve ;)

I definitely hope we enter again next year :)

A telling comment from the text commentary of today's semi-final between Orient and Blackpool:

"53 mins: Blackpool have been ignoring the competition's three subs rule all tournament long and they've made four changes at the break in addition to their first half substitution. Ian Evatt, Keith Southern, Stephen Crainey and Jason Euell are all on."

Orient lost 2-1 to a 94th minute goal :(

Blackpool came from 2-0 down to beat Havant and Waterlooville 3-2 in the final.
