Actually, another point is that apart from 'Take me home' we keep all the songs.

I think that changing the name to anything radical is just going to divide the fanbase and that is the last thing we want. A phoenix club is intended to carry on the traditions and history of its predecessor, that includes the name as much as possible.

I quite like the sound of FC Rushden and Diamonds.

Its keeps the history and tradition; people will still call us Rushden and Diamonds but officially the team will be called FC Rushden and Diamonds.

People will still say "Are you going Diamonds on Saturday" and the fans can still sing "We all follow the Rushden"; it seems the best fit, the more I think about it the more I feel the name needs to change but maybe just a tiny tiny little bit.

The trouble will be the domain name.

Agreed Stalin!

Iv started to roughly draw up alot of ideas that have been posted on here that, to help form an agenda for a forthcoming meeting. I've drawed up a wide list of topics that could be discussed, one of them is like 'Helpful People/Organisations' you seem to be clued up when it comes to websites/domain names etc. So I hope you dont mind me jotting 'Stalin' down under a branch of this topic! ;)

Would we not be able to continue the current official site? That's only 'thediamondsfc' and nothing long to include the whole name..

And on another note, how many people actually call them FC United of Manchester? When a group of us from Uni went to watch them last season, we all simply called them FC United. We may have a different official name - let's use AFC Rushden and Diamonds for example, but I would expect the majority of us would not call us by this full name.

No problem Twinkle Toes.

Good list of domains Mad Dog but the more I think about it the more I just see problems, might be better to stick with thediamondsfc.com.

I'd suggest fcrushden.com but when you look at it your head see's F Crush Den.com.

You don't want to be spelling other words inside your own domain name.

Anyway, I won't bore on, more important things to plan, don't want to hijack the thread just talking about domain names.

PS, can we play in Red?

I think the shirt presentation needs to be in pride of place wherever we play, then. :)
