Joe said the ref sent him off for a stamp. Joe also said that he fouled the bloke and then both their momentums (momenti?) carried them forward and he stood on him. Opinion on the hostility decking and the folks closest is divided. Either way the Dunstable player made a real meal of it that could have influenced the ref.
I thought we were tremendous tonight throughout the team. Kingy was Motm and the way his play forced their six deeper and deeper gave us the edge in midfield.
The sending off and the disallowed OG were pathetic decisions. I understand the official reason for Merrills red card was stamping, but only the ref saw it .
Whilst that was going on the Dunstable no 4 came over to us on the De Banke and said that he had been booked when it was a different player that had committed a foul!!.
I thought it was a very bold decision of Starms to keep the same team in the second half. He could easily have brought on Gilly and sacrificed Liburd.
We looked more likely to score at all times than Dunstable.
A great team performance, special mention to Tom Cross and Jamal Clarke who are getting better with every game.
Thought we looked very good first half, should have scored a couple of more. Then the sending off and goal against really had us up against it. What a performance second half. Kingy was superb, on his day like today he is a different level, should have scored at least 1 though. One additional mention regarding the ref was during the first half when their number 5 was being booked the number 6 responded to the taunts from the crowd with "your just a bunch of wa***rs, f**k off" and he was standing less than a meter from the ref. surely he must have heard it which should have been at least a booking. We will be a match for anyone in the vase this year.

Was that ever in doubt?
Thought we were superb tonight and am more confident than ever about Saturday now, we can travel full of confidence. I'm not going to pick any individuals out as I think the team as a whole performed brilliantly - when we pick up the tempo of the play teams can't live with us, we did it for about 15 minutes on Saturday (which led to our goal) and Dunstable were chasing shadows - we did it again at the start of the second half and again, they were found wanting and the return was 2 goals this time, from that point on the result was never really in doubt - you wouldn't have known we were a man down !!
I'm really excited about this team and remain convinced we can attack all three of our top competitions and progress well in all !!
Now going to sit down with a cuppa and read our quality programme - everything about our club is class
Raising awareness of Motor Neurone Disease RIP Dale Roberts - gone, but never forgotten!!

That was bizarre - we initially thought he would book the number 5 for the challenge, then the number 6 for his repeated dissent, and when he called number 4 over we thought it was because he was their captain - only to see him booked. Quite how number 5 could commit so many fouls, and number 6 such dissent without being booked was also a mystery.
What a tremendous game of football. Message to those who preferred to watch our National Team huff and puff, as I expected, in Ukraine you missed a hell of a performance by our boys. TEN men, we only need ten men.
Formic's match report here, which was available within a couple of hours of the match finishing with his usual efficiency.
Their six was moaning all game on Saturday as well, I said to him "if you played as well as you moaned you wouldn't be here", he laughed and said "probably right"
A superb performance from our boys against an average AFCD team that whinged more than any team I've heard in many years. I wasn't too fussed about progressing in this competition, but I'm glad we did last night.
