I find it interesting when people talk about awful attendances. Alan Green seems to have it in for Villa - whenever he's at Villa Park (on a recent Monday evening vs Southampton and last Sunday vs Leicester) he absolutely slated the club and the fans for 25,300 and 27,700 attendances respectively. I couldn't help but wonder when was the last time he paid £30/£40/£50 for a not world-class standard football game.

Not sure I get where your point is coming from or going to, other than people should only be expected to part with their hard earned cash for top notch performances, in which case 5% of all teams any all levels would have a following the rest would play in empty stadiums. Don`t you just support your team through whatever and if times are bad you dream of good times around the corner. To be fair regarding the example given, Villa I am advised by a Mate who follows them are at present playing in front of crowds that are 10/12,000 down on expectations for one reason only, they are dog s*it, The point I believe being made on here is, when it`s not required due to fixture backlogs, at non league level don`t ask Clubs to play in the middle of winter and the run up to Christmas as it has and always will greatly affect the turnout and result in revenue loss can can be ill afforded.

The crowd on Saturday was always going to be low based on the following

1 - It's our farthest, crappest journey
2 - It's two shopping Saturdays before Christmas
3 - The following games are at home and then a visit to a new ground
4 - It was freezing cold.
5 - The game there last season was poor.

The video highlights are now online - complete with Confue's head injury during the celebration of the first goal. The stats are also updated, as is the downloadable fixture list - see the links at the end of the match report for all of these.
