Forget what others think dowlo. We the loyal fans know what's going on and it's a bit more than going through a bad spell.

Losing bunting is massive for us. We had a spine in the side finers ,dolman ,bunts (you could always hear bunts bolocking the team) Lorraine which never stopped running and well could say Berwick as he always gave 100%. Now we have a side without a spine and I think that sums it all up.....
At this stage is it more than a bad spell? If this is to carries onto until the end of the season and beyond then yes it is more than a blip and questions will need to be asked. But at this stage it is just a bad spell.

As for the spine, we still have Finners, Dolman and Lorraine. Berwick and Bunting are big loses, we lack Bunting's passing and creativity and Berwicks running and movement. 1 left due to an issue with his ego (didn't want to sit on the bench) and Bunting is long term injured. It just so happens the players that have come in to replace those 2 haven't been performing. Like I said though, when their names were first mentioned as signing no one said Peaksy is clueless and the players aren't up to scratch!

I'm not in the whole "glad to have a team" camp. Obviously I am glad to have a team (we all are) and I want to see them get promoted and keep doing well, but you have to be realistic! How can we keep going up and up and splashing cash on players to get us to the higher levels, with no real proper infrastructure in place. The main thing being a ground of our own! If we go up this year through the play-off and come straight down what have we achieved. There aren't any parachute payments in the Evo Stick League for finishing last in the Northern/Southern Prem.

We the loyal fans know what's going on and it's a bit more than going through a bad spell. - Perhaps you'd like to share your insider knowledge and let us "unloyal fans" that don't know what's going on. As far as I can see, we have got in some players that are proven at this level, it hasn't worked, we will get rid of them in the summer and learn from this season and go again. IF then it continues to struggle with Peaksy at the helm. We then have a re think!

Some really good and sensible posts above - we'll come through this! I am in the "we're lucky to have a club" gang though :good:

I think what upset so many people last night was the Jekyl and Hyde performance between first and second halves. It's certainly left me baffled!

Losing isn't the issue for me, it's the manner of the defeat. We should have won last night and had we done so we'd be 4th in the table and poised to push on to secure a play off spot, I'm sure had we won this forum would have lit up with many posts saying "if we can beat Egham the title isn't out of reach still" ....... but we didn't and it is ! Thin margins eh? There were some green shoots on Saturday that indicated we'd turned a corner - after the first 45 mins I was confident we'd win, we performed well !!

The last 45 was dreadful and Peaksy has the unenviable task of finding out why and putting it right !! I bet he's as baffled as the rest of us as to why things changed!

I love this club and will follow it through thick and thin, doesn't mean I won't say when we perform badly, but I'm certainly not advocating a witch hunt - it's not like Peaksy has lots of money invested in offshore tax havens is it...... or does he?

I'll be there Saturday as per usual! I wonder, IF we secure a play off spot and IF we win (stranger things have happened) will those people advocating a change of manager now feel a bit foolish?

If we don't make it, such is life !! We go again next year !! That's what being a metastable allotrope of carbon is all about - we're hard and will be here for the duration!! :innocent:

Win the last 4 games, win the cup by beating the scum and then win the 2 play off games, back to back cup winning promotions and all will be forgiven Peaksy

I don't want to fan the flames but many of those appealing for calm on here weren't at Arlesey last night. Just an observation.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

That's a stupid post. The issue stopped being about a single game when posters started calling for wholesale changes. A season is eight months long, to build a club from nothing a lot longer. Yet we have the most ridiculous posts after a bad run of six games.

A year ago today promotion was secured from the UCL. If anyone was offered play-offs going into April they'd have all took it, perhaps not OD#² but he's deluded.

I was !! The last 45 minutes were dreadful !! I won't shirk from saying that - but I don't advocate a change of management, that would be plain daft and put whoever was put in charge with 4 games to go in an impossible position - plus, who would take the job on right now??!!

Players need to step up and show some pride now! Supporters need to get behind them and the management and show some support - the clue is in the name "support"er!!

Decisions then need to be made by the Board we appointed based on results vs objectives at the end of the season, then plan for next year !!

If you want to influence that, become a member and stand for the Board, elections are coming - I'm sure your application would be gratefully received by the current Board who are keen for some new/fresh blood!!

Peaks comments in the ET are hardly insightful. You could lift his comments from the last 4 defeats and they would sound identical

Point taken, but I have witnessed, Boston Town away 2-1 loss (Alex Deakin hero to zero), Oadby away x2, not forgetting the Under 18 9-0 defeat to Cogenhoe. They must surely have been worse games. Or perhaps not?

What do you expect him to say? "We are shite, players don't listen, I've lost the plot, Stevenson would need an oversized banjo to hit a cows arse, Hoban couldn't cross the road, Hall needs a map to go past a defender"

No football manager at any level us going to come out and slag anyone off during a rough spell.
