I think the only pre requisite for many of them is it doesn't matter where they play, at what level or who owns or runs the Club as long as they can retain all 140 years of abject mediocrity. Yawn yawn.
Anyone else changed clubs this evening for a daily salary greater than the Ploppy's alleged debt.

Reading Ploppynet almost brings a tear to your eye  but then haven't we all cried laughing at some point. Some good points being made about the wonderful fan base. By own admission it amounts to 5 and the rest are just a bunch of moaning prats who in fact can't be bothered.
Present debate is crowd size for BSN title game V Telford. The spread is 2300 - 6000

I think they must beginning to cotton on to the situation?
still think goings on at nene park should be investigated somewhere. Very shady the way its being run and how its killed off local clubs. It's registered to a company founded in panama for a start. What are they hiding? Also hill and cousins names seem to pop up at many struggling clubs. Portsmouth apparently were linked with these two but rejected their involvement recently. Dodgy, unsavoury bastards.

A bit late, but the penny may have just dropped 8-)

Has anyone warned that poster on Ploppynet that he might be in line for a 'knee capping' with his comments? ;)

Because now that must be even more inviting than before, it's just a two level drop now, so surely take the hit and have a feel good club like us?
Exactly, but they just can't let go of that 'glorious' history of theirs. If they were to take the hit and put their support behind KFC and managed to get it to Latimer Park along with the feel good factor back with lots of games to win, then they'd probably even get better crowds than us and certainly better crowds than struggling team in the Calor League.

The Poppies fans themselves don't seem to be organising any fund raising effort, they are relying on the efforts of others. They don't seem to have taken into account what must be huge legal costs.

So tonight dunstable are donating £1 of every paying adult to the save K*ttering fund..

The poppies fans ignorance to dropping down 2 leagues just amazes me, they care to much about their tiny piece of history to start again. So would rather just limp on. I despise them, and that's a strong word, but if they started again I think I could change my ways and actually offer my congratulations. I know many of them read this forum and many a times have people on here offered their support in starting a fresh, but being stuck in their own ignorance blew us out.

Being a diamonds fan 11 years now I can say that there were good times and bad with the old club, however I have never felt as much support and passion as I do for this one. In rushden and diamonds I was just a number, being with afc I am a member and part of the clubs future, for that I thank everyone involved!!

I notice many of the ideas and comments on here end up on one of the two Poppies forums - but even the likes of "Pedro" who used to be one of the few poppies on those forums without his head in the sand seems to be heading that way, by stating that there is no covenant on Nene Park in addition to the well-documented Claw Back clauses. Obviously we were advised differently, so I've extracted a few words from one of the statements at the time :-

"10. There is a covenant on the land that is recorded at the Land Registry in favour of the Griggs Group that specifies that the land at Nene Park can only be used for football or other community use. This covenant can only be broken if the Griggs Group decide not to enforce it."

Quite right - not only did we offer them support regarding a new club, but before that had offered them advice on the pitfalls of moving to Nene Park - but we were just seen as wind-up merchants (no pun intended).

Another idea for them would be to look at what happened at Darlington when they raised a huge sum of money to try to retain their history, only for the FA to force them to start as a new club with a new name.
