How hard did you sell it to them ? Did you make it clear that the £410 included VAT, and highlight the fact that everyone who enters, whether they win or not, gets various advertising benefits, plus other fringe benefits.
As others have mentioned your reference to "zero coverage" is a moot point, especially with your inappropriate use of the word "literally". The actual draw has already been publicised, and it's pretty likely the outcome of the draw will also be publicised - not forgetting that the league is on the TV now - and if the Diamonds have a good FA Cup run there will be national publicity in mainstream media. There will also be advertising by virtue of shirts being worn in the locality, as well as pictures of players wearing the shirts in local media. Add to that the coverage on the RDFC Official Website and in the local press wherever the Diamonds play if they carry pictures of the games.
To be honest, for this to be a success, the Club has to really go out and knock on the doors of local companies - as they should to promote any sort of corporate support package - and hammer home the advantages of this form of sponsorship. Just waiting for companies to contact the club, as seems to be the case here, simply wont work.
But then the second problem as I see it would be that 'plc' status companies - companies with national product coverage and who would benefit most from shirt sponsorship - would have problems in getting the purchase of a £400.00 raffle ticket past a financial director and into their accounts whilst for smaller companies, the cost is proportionally greater in terms of their turnover and at the same time, being a local company the national exposure / coverage aspect would be less likely to be of interest.
I would be absolutely amazed if the club succeeds in selling 100 tickets, 20 would be a surprise, and, unless KC feels like doing an "Aston Villa" and putting the name of a local charity on the shirts, I suspect we will be having a year without a shirt sponsor.

I have asked our EA Sports Marketing bods to take a look as well - though the person I passed it on to thought they were already tied up with the Premiership Linkage, and also some clubs in the Football League - though not sure who. I said am sure we'd ve happy to promote "EA Sports FIFA 11".
I don't hold out much hope - but I did push it through the channels via our Marketing Director (Playfish part of EA).
That said I never did that draw I promised in the Summer - so will have to dig that thread out..for the copies of an EA game - maybe better to switch it to FIFA 11 now I am so late...

There is an update to the sponsorship option on the OWS which might appeal to those who still want to club together if there isn't enough interest on here -

Hmm.
Thing is we're most of the way there.
I was hoping ID would send out a message to all forum users like I asked but no response.
Are you out there ID?

You can do that yourself via the Private Messages section in the User Control Panel at the top of the screen. Click Find A Member, then in the new windown click Mark All at the bottom of the page, then Select Marked.

Yeah I know, but I figured it would carry more weight coming from ID.

Thanks RD, but unless we have a sudden influx of donations I'm going to have to pull this, we're still £110 short :(
