I think we're lacking width at the moment. I like Wisniewski but he is always looking to come inside and certainly in our opening game when we played with 3 central midfielders the supply to the frontline suffered badly and was largely restricted to Dent taking it upon himself to try and take on 3 or 4 men. Hopefully the return of Okechukwu will help that and give us more natural width on each side.

I'd also like to see more of Morgan. Elwood was awesome in the first few pre-season games but his form has dipped and Morgan continues to impress from the bench.

Support was awesome today there was way more there than i'd anticipated. Harrowby next Saturday will be the acid test though.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

We really didn't play as well we can today, but despite that we still dominated the match and had we taken our chances we could, and perhaps we should, have scored 3 or 4 goals! On a positive note I thought Dent and Merrill played very well and Alfie looks to be on fire.

With regards to the concerns raised by "nsman" I think anybody who goes to a football match, at any level, expecting there to be no bad language is, with the greatest respect, being incredibly naive - bad language, rightly or wrongly, is ubiquitous in football. Of course, if the reports of racism are true, then that is on a whole other level and is completely unacceptable. However, I would have thought that the more prudent course of action would have been to raise this with an official from the home club, so they could take immediate action; or perhaps contact the club directly, rather than post on an unofficial messageboard.
It was perhaps where I was standing, but I didn't hear any of those type of chants from our fans, the only thing I heard were some Wooton fans shouting abuse at our fans.. along the lines of "shut up you c"£$%"... and one bloke who every time we shouted "Come on Rushden" shouted "Come on you blues!"

As for the game, I didn't like how Wooton put most of their players behind the ball in the second half, and I thought it was going to be one of those days. They were a good side though, obviously did their homework.

To be honest, Im happy we came away with a point. And I think it was good kick up the backside for some of our lads. That said, we should have won comfortably.

On the subject of our fans behaviour, I think in general we're a very well behaved set of fans, everything is just going to be highlighted at this level. To moan about swearing at football is nonsense, However, I'd take on board that if theres women and children about then things should be kept to a miminmum. With regards the gypo chant its all banter, its a shame nobody chooses to hear the chants directed to the same player praising him, and chants of "sign him up". Nobody sees the lads, going up to the same player in the bar after praising his performance and wishing them all the best, but hey ho!

I think we are one other good player from being a UCL Premier team.

We need an experienced good quality holding midfielder.

Can anybody suggest one?

Almost certainly if it was that many, as when Wootton scored, I'd say there wasn't many more than 30 or 40 people cheering.
