Much better today, but not getting carried away as raunds were terrible!

Gearing looks like a real player, he'll be one to watch!

Yet they were in 6th place before kickoff, clearly one of these weird teams, of which there are several in this league that are very up and down, as I mentioned in another thread there's several teams like Raunds and Olney who have (or almost have) won half their games and lost half their games. Starting to think that while there are quite a few teams in this league who on their day can get results off anyone, there's only really 4 or 5 teams that are really capable of showing any sort of consistency.

I find it surprising how well Harrowby and Olney are doing now, considering how poor they were when we played them. Alright, admittedly we only beat Olney with a late goal, but they couldn't really do much against us other than sit back, defend and hope for the best and there was clearly a gap between the 2 teams.

Quite a good attendance for midweek, if Pigman hadn't been so wimpy it would've been a nice, round figure. ;)

Nice to hear of a good 1st half performance for the first time! Shame we didn't go on and get more in the 2nd to pad the goal difference but oh well. Harrowby will be difficult, they beat Oadby away a couple of weeks ago, but I'm looking forward to it. :D

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but all or most of the teams we have played away, have strengthened their squads, could it be that the extra revenue we brought in has helped? 8-)

What position did Gearing play. Just following off twitter it is quite hard to judge what positions or formation we are playing in

Gearing was playing wide left. Same sort of role Wisniewski plays on the other side. He looked very quick and agile and had great close control.

The addition of Gearing has given us a more balanced look when we attack. I think Newman benefitted from his inclusion and seemed to be a lot happier.

Having the players wearing 2-11 shirts this season makes it a bit easier to work out who is playing where - you'll find that info in the match report - http://www.afcdiamonds.com/afc-rushden- ... nds-town-0

Thank you very much. I got the numbers thing but I just wasn't sure what formation we were playing
