Top four or five in Div One are comfortably better than the rest of the division. Would say the top-four or five would also comfortably challenge at the top end of the UCL Prem. It's just a freak Div One this year in terms of quality.

If your comparing today against Oadby and R&H then it was a big improvement. Some of the attacking play was lovely and maybe we should of scored more. The back 4 were solid most of the day and there were alot less stray passes and pointless clearances made. we tried to work it out and put the ball on the ground more. Nice to see improvements game after game
Chenecks were a really poor side, which surprised me as it did alot of people, they were worse than R&H for sure and that should give us hope if that Bugbrooke can be beaten by them, we can beat the likes of Bugbrooke and others.
Their goalkeeper was terrible gifting us the 2 goals really and i would of liked to of seen us test him more. I don't think a few more 18 yarders would of been a bad thing rather than trying to pass it around the box and losing it. Peter was awful today again, i stood right next to the dugout in the first half and 90% of the vocals coming from there were to Peter. Starms was fuming time and time again at peter's lack of direction, movement and positioning. Unfortunately he is technically lacking and however much starms told him what/where/when he didn't listen. I was actually surprised he stayed on for the second half but he didn't last long.
Actually thought the ref was poor today. A young ref that may be used to games of 50/60 people. Not 560. I thought he buckled too much in the 50/50 tackles (in our favour) obviously you can't moan too much when the decisions are going our way but you want to see an even game out there. Into the second half he settled more and the poor decisions were equally divided between both teams.
Overall great to see the 3 points. Shame the others around us won but we just have to keep pluging away getting the points. Nice to see such a healthy crowd for a cold day. There is some serious cold and wintery weather hitting Northamptonshire in the next few days hopefully the tempeature will rise before the weekend but we could be in for a free weekend again :(

We could hear Starms from the other side of the ground near Dale's Bar, giving Peter grief. But, he had Gilly, Dent and Ben all available for changing it. Gilly could have gone to right back and Joe pushed up, or put Dent on. Ben did replace him later, but I didn't see Dent get any action, nor Gilly. And who was that King who wildly slid in to their player after 30 seconds ? He didn't look any better than Peter.

Gilly was injured and not on the bench. Aaron King is our recent signing. Let's pass full judgement once he's settled in. ;)

yes we had a few problems yesterday with it. It went off air as soon as we got on and then I believe it may have cut off and then back on again throughout the match. Sorry for that, let's hope it's better for the U18 game on Wednesday night and Raunds away on Saturday.Cotty wrote:soon as I thanked you the commentary disappeared. I was in the main stand yesterday and there was guy that constantly picked on the players that side, i was finding it annoying so i guess it was putting the player off on that side of the pitch. Pete was his favorite word, replaced with ben when came on.
If it was you give it rest for the sake of the players and the rest of us over there.

I actually thought Pete had a better game than Tuesday but although we all want him to do well it is pretty obvious that he is not good enough for a team that want to be challenging for promotion. Kingy showed glimpses of his class when he came on, his touch and vision look excellent. He should be a quality signing if he beds in ok.FOOTYMAN wrote:We could hear Starms from the other side of the ground near Dale's Bar, giving Peter grief. fao ron manager. That must have been the same guy I heard on Tuesday night. I wasn't there yesterday. But I did find it annoying on Tuesday. Perhaps he could do better ;) SS

Agreed with what everyone else has said really. First half, we played really well; zipping it around with confidence, pressing the Chenecks players high up the pitch, and allowing them no outball. I thought we were unlucky not to be 3/4-0 up at HT, as both Taylor and Newman had efforts both well saved from the 'dodgy' keeper. Second half, we took our foot of the pedal, allowing them a few half chances, but the defence stood firm, and especially Deaks, did well. Was impressed with King when he came on; like Raz said, he made some great forward runs, and I feel that him and McBride will compliment each other well. A special mention to Ash in goal as well; though he had little work to do, the things he had to do were done confidence and with much assurance.
MOTM for me was Gearing, who was bright, lively and caused them problems all day long. Also good to see Dev back from injury and get some minutes in for the busy run of fixtures coming up in the next few weeks
