Also I think that the way we responded to going a goal behind was great, it was as if we knew it would come if we just kept at it, and the goals certainly came.

329 - so Ithink your guess on AFCRD fans is about right.

The fourth goal is now officially credited to Confue.

Given that there were only 35 there on Wednesday it could well have been 300+ Diamonds fans, PNS had a few with them on Wed, so unless the "Diamonds effect" brought a few more locals out, 300+ is very possible. Still, attendances don't win titles eh? :)

No they didn't it's was just us & Holbeach, so in the event we finish 2nd behind Wisbech we will probably go up, not that that's relevant as we will finish top.
Can Wisbech make an application to be promoted ?
Is there a closing date ?

Closing date was 30th November.

"Any Club seeking promotion from Step 5 to Step 4 must make application to the Association on the prescribed form and provide the required supporting documentation, copied to their existing League, by 30th November in the relevant year. The application must be accompanied by the agreed grading fee, as determined by the LC, which is non refundable. Applicant clubs must achieve an E Grade by 31st March in the Playing Season when promotion is sought. The Association will arrange an inspection as soon as practical thereafter."

That suggests a top 2 finish would be good enough. There is no way that Holbeach will finish above us, and that is not being complacent, it is a fact.

Top 3 would suffice provided Holbeach finish 4th. Just had a look at Wisbech's remaining fixtures and they have 7 away games in their 13 remaining matches and have to play Yaxley and Holbeach and Cogenhoe twice whereas we have 7 home matches out of 10 remaining fixtures.

They will be fortunate to finish 4th and will only finish 3rd if they avoid dropping any more points.
They are no longer a threat.

10 more games to go.

They also have to play PNS twice. Oh and the little matter of a visit to the Dog and Duck.

The title would be nice. More than nice. But the main thing is that we finish above Holbeach and in the top 3. As long as we get out of this league I am a happy man as I sincerely do not want to visit the likes of Oadby, Thurnby and Long Buckby again next season.

Wisbech's form makes our 3-1 win with 8 men look outstanding. I'm hoping that result will give us a mental advantage when they visit the D&D later this month.
