Quite a good positive meeting. Time for everyone to step up. A very interesting point raised tonight that Richard Maxwell has points targets as in the same way Burges got sacked for not hitting his points target. It’s 15 points from the second quarter of games and if I work that out correctly a loss on Saturday would see him unable to reach that and ultimately sacked. Or if we win it would be the next loss before 21 games played.

Well without going into too much detail on here, there were certainly some deeply concerning things told tonight, yes, not a lot most didn't already know, but still nevertheless not good and needless to say some of the treatment of volunteers and those offering their help is disgusting, let's at the very least make sure anyone offering their time to the club is never treated that way again.
But the following q&a part was positive and the chap who spoke at near the end (sorry forgot who it was) who mentioned that it shouldn't get to the point we are in now for people to take an interest in board matters was completely right, now is the time for people to step up.
Those who spoke tonight with great ideas and impassioned speeches, I implore you if you are able to, please volunteer your time and make the change and take this club forward and if you can, stand for election to the board. I fear after hearing what we heard tonight that we are doomed for almost certain relegation, but even if that is the case, we can still try and move the club forward and sortv ourselves out to come back stronger in the future.

Really felt for Matt Ward tonight. Imo the other co chair should of been there too to help answer some of the questions!
Matt will be another huge loss to the football club for sure. A guy who's gave it his everything and nice fella aswell. Thanks for everything Matt.
Fingers crossed we can all pay together in some capacity but more importantly some good people step up and help push the club forward!
Just need a manager now who knows the level

Absolutely correct, Matt will be a massive loss and his contribution to the success of the club should not be underestimated.gibston wrote: Wed Nov 02, 2022 11:14 pm Matt will be another huge loss to the football club for sure. It seems like last night was a much needed reality check as to what's happened/happening off the the field, that can only be a positive.
Perhaps now it's time for a reality check on the pitch. While relegation should never be accepted until it's mathematically certain there should be a plan in place for playing at Step 4 next season.
Having correctly sacked the manager in the first place and then incorrectly appointed the wrong candidate, sacking Maxwell now or in the next couple of weeks may not be the answer. The coaching team does need someone with a bit of game smarts in the dugout though. Get Wayne Abbott in the dug out.
What is clear that you now need people on the board or available for advice who know how to run a football club.

In reply to Gibson, you need to pay attention more,
the Co chairman quite understandably resigned from his position after the Redditch game when he was allegedly subjected to totally unwarranted abuse. Hence Matt was on his own last night.
Regarding the points target for RM surely that should only start from his first game in charge, he has 4 points to date in 5 games (I think) if we commence from Nuneaton. So 5 or 6 more games to get 10 points. A tall order under the circumstances. Tbf to him maybe the target he faces should be clarified and we all know where we stand.

I think this is a moot point at the moment since the board don't have the ability to remove him if they wanted to on current numbers. For now we just collectively need to accept where we are at and who our Manager is and as was correctly said at the end, draw a line in the sand. We've got bigger issues to tackle. One thing that it confirmed to me, and my mind has never changed on this, is that staying away and cancelling things like the lottery money is beyond unhelpful.sussexdiamond wrote: Thu Nov 03, 2022 10:08 am In reply to Gibson, you need to pay attention more, the Co chairman quite understandably resigned from his position after the Bromsgrove game when he was allegedly subjected to totally unwarranted abuse. Given the really difficult circumstances I thought last night - after a difficult start - went about as well as could realistically have been expected. Some really valid and genuinely troubling points raised by a wide spectrum of the fanbase. I hope that enough people have been galvanized by that to step forward and help the club in some capacity, but time will tell.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Regarding the volunteers, all it would take is to go to those who walked away and offer apologies for the way they were treated.
There was a very good idea put forward at the meeting, this should 100% be something that needs to be implemented.

I know he resigned,so please don't tell me to pay more attention. He's still goes and supports the team on match days so thought he'd play his part in supporting his EX Co chair even just as a member!!! Only my opinion of course.sussexdiamond wrote: Thu Nov 03, 2022 10:08 am In reply to Gibson, you need to pay attention more, the Co chairman quite understandably resigned from his position after the Redditch game when he was allegedly subjected to totally unwarranted abuse.
