A very, VERY disappointing day at the office, no getting away from that. We got what we deserved today, nothing and fair play to Eynesbury who did a really good job on us !! Oadby losing is a massive bonus, I didn't see them dropping points today, so its not as bad as it could have been.

So, if my maths is correct that leaves us 4th in the table and 4 points off the top spot (Sileby 22, Oadby 20, Eynesbury 19, us 18 - all very tight !!). Its not the end of the world, but it does feel like it at the moment ;)

I'm not going to go all "doom and gloom" like some are - we're still in the mix and there are a hell of a lot of games to go and points to win, but the players have really got to step up now, performances like today's just aren't good enough. We were lacking in every dept today, on a pitch which I thought was set up for us to play well on !! The players have to really take a long hard look at themselves tonight and then come out with all guns blazing. I'm bitterly disappointed tonight though.

I said I wouldn't hit the keys tonight for fear of what I might say, so I'm going to go and chill out with a curry from the best curry house in Bedford and a nice bottle of red wine !!

I think we should go completely doom and gloom now - the season's over, we're absolutely fucked etc. etc. etc.

At least the burgers were really good. That's the positive I'm taking from today's match.

We were poor today, very poor. Eynesbury worked as a team, something that we didn't do.

I agree that we miss Elliott Dent, and losing Alfie to injury hasn't helped either. As for Jake Newman I think he's lacking in confidence, and I'm not sure I agree that he doesn't want to be here.

Hopefully this result will be a wake up call for the players, they must do better.

I didn't think today was THAT bad. I thought apart from at the business ends of the pitch we were the better side :)

Everyone know's the business ends of the pitch are the areas it matters though. We're decent until we get to the final third, especially the box. The facts are this - Devon Ellwood and Jake Newman are both not good enough. I feared after the very first game that if we ever lose Alfie, we'll struggle, and despite the reaction I got, it seems looking at the statistics since he got injured it's proved very, very true. Newman's attitude stinks - anyone behind the goal who saw his reaction to a right-aggrieved Wisniewski after he messed up another simple goalscoring chance when he should of squared it will know what I'm on about. Also, the 1on1 he missed was just unbelievable , everything about it all wrong. Doesn't look good. I'd loved to be proved wrong though - his goalscoring record last year certainly gives us a bit of hope, just hope it's a confidence/settling in thing. Dev tries his heart out - but then so did Craig Farrell - and Craig's work ethic didn't stop him being renowned as the notorious donkey. Strikers are based on goals, and if you can't even get a shot off after being 3 yards ahead of defenders through on goal something's wrong. The same happened in the Thrapston match. He does look like a potentially effective creative player though - it just often leaves no one in the box to get those crucial POMO goals (such as the cross that flew across the face of the goal at 1-2)

At the back we're just too slow. I appreciate Deakin is second choice but he looked all over the place - Per Mertesacker-esque not only in height/hair but also in being constantly off the pace. If we're to play Hope we need pace around him to make up for his age! And Quincy looks far too casual at the moment - hope we get a long-term alternative keeper to keep him on his toes - he deserves to be dropped after today.

Apart from this, I was genuinely impressed with the team. Joe Merrill looks a cracking player and Brownie was very solid at left back. Centre Mid's looked dominant, and wingers dangerous, just a shame about the key areas of the pitch I guess.

Onwards and upwards, as I said, really enjoyed an away day - my first since Wrexham back in 2011, the food was great, and was a joy to be part of the diehard away contingent ;)

I think the worrying thing is, if we are getting beat 4-1 today then we're going to get turned over by Oadby and Sileby when we play them and suddenly we not in the mix anymore and we are then a top 6 team not a top 3
