Re: If you were Peaks...
It is only four more but three of yours involve getting rid of Lorraine, Berwick and Rogers and relegating Ashton to the bench.

If BR wants 2 new strikers, I'll make the assumption he wants two out too? I doubt he'd ditch Joseph ahead of ditching Lorraine and Berwick. Dunks is a debatable one I suppose.
I stand by wanting an ex-Premier league CB in the team who is currently playing many levels above us, whatever that means as a consequence.
Happy to be proved wrong on Rogers.

If Darren stayed with his present Club for next season I think "many levels" would in fact be ONE :roll:Oundle Diamond #2 wrote:I stand by wanting an ex-Premier league CB in the team who is currently playing many levels above us, whatever that means as a consequence.
He would be a great addition to the current squad but not sure i`d start chucking out promising lads in their early 20s for someone you may get 2 more years from.

As I've said, I'd love to have Dolman, Ashton and Purse at the club competing for those two CB slots. There's no "chucking out" involved.
Re: If you were Peaks...
Lewis Hillyard (at St Neots) is a player I would like to see us go for, gets a lot of goals form mid field , the trouble is I believe he lives in March

And would cost about 25% of our budget on one player, he`s about the sole survivor from St Notes in the UCL & is very well looked after there hence still being there.STAGMAN wrote:Lewis Hillyard (at St Neots) is a player I would like to see us go for, gets a lot of goals form mid field , the trouble is I believe he lives in March
Going back to the original question "If you were Peaks"
I`d concentrate on winning the next 2 league games to break the 100 point barrier something only done by Daventry, St Notes & Big Bucks-by in recent years, with only 3 defeats in the season (list is reduced) only done by St Notes & Big Bucks-by, all done on a sustainable budget (that list has no names on it)
Then move onto May 5th and hopefully winning the Cup giving us the double, again the list of Clubs achieving that has no names on it unless you go back to before the birth of some of our squad. All this if achieved would not be bad for a team "nowhere near as good as some recent winners of the UCL" quote attributed to Mr Field Manager of both Eynerbury & Einerbury.
Then i`d have a holiday and look back on a job f**kin well done.
Once the Mad Hatters Tea Party AKA The FA has decided which league everyone will be in next season and the normal objections and appeals have been made and heard, I would then re-contact each and every one of this seasons squad (as it may be the case as mentioned that some may not fancy or be able to make Sheffield on a Tuesday night).
Then may be the time to sit down with Lamby & Biff & put the finishing touches on plans for 2015-16 at Step 4.
All of the above I for one have every confidence can be done, though i`m sure Peaksy, Lamby & Biff will be most thankful for the help offered on this thread as will the players who have put in so much during the season only to be offered "exit stage right" before the fat lady has even started her encore for the present season.
As I know someone in production there, I have this afternoon contacted JCB who are willing to put on an extra shift this weekend as it has become clear during the course of today you intend to keep on digging.

Re: If you were Peaks...
Peaks:
“We are looking forward to the challenges ahead now”
“No matter what league we are in next season, I think a lot of these players can come with us."
“You will always need to bring a couple in but I won’t be looking to make wholesale changes.
“I believe this squad is good enough to do well again next season."
“Most of them deserve a chance so why not? The spirit is good and that always helps.”
I guess this thread can rest in peace.
