UCL Division One...
Re: UCL Division One...
Just tried googling for this weekend's attendances in our division and other divisions above us without much success. Went on a few websites, but alas no luck.
Any of you guys/girls in the "know" can you put a link on here.
Thanks

Re: UCL Division One...
Last season King's Lynn Blue & Gold Trust had a detailed breakdown of attendances, club by club, highs, lows and averages for each division of the UCL but they havn't continued with this now they've been promoted. Oadby Town had an attendance of 91 on Saturday and I doubt Whitworths had more than 30-40.
The second highest average attendance last season in both divisions of the UCL, ignoring King's Lynn, was the 151 enjoyed by Peterborough North Star.

The gulf in attendances is simply staggering; how do teams survive on gates of only 35?
Although attendances never win matches, it was nice to see such a large support at the Dog and Duck on Saturday although the attendances at the other grounds really does highlight just exactly where we are in the footballing pyramid.

Re: UCL Division One...
The guy from Whitworths on UCL chatter said they don't pay any money to players and are happy at their level. I guess they get a bit sponsorship, clubhouse revenue from bar sales etc. to balance the books in respect of other expenditure.Stalin wrote:The gulf in attendances is simply staggering; how do teams survive on gates of only 35?
Different kettle of fish to what we hope to achieve with our club.

Ooooh be careful what you say Paul, fans of other UCL clubs might think you're being disrespectful! ;)

The reality is Phil, that the majority of UCL clubs even those in the Premier division seem to have no desire to get promoted and are happy at this level whereas for us it is, hopefully, just a stepping stone because if we remain at this level then we will not continue to receive gates of the size we witnessed last Saturday.UttoDiamond wrote:Ooooh be careful what you say Paul, fans of other UCL clubs might think you're being disrespectful! ;)

Good comment, and it's worth noting that many of the teams run successfully year on year with a small paying support but at the same time offering a Social Hub for the Community.Trek wrote:The reality is Phil, that the majority of UCL clubs even those in the Premier division seem to have no desire to get promoted and are happy at this level whereas for us it is, hopefully, just a stepping stone because if we remain at this level then we will not continue to receive gates of the size we witnessed last Saturday.UttoDiamond wrote:Ooooh be careful what you say Paul, fans of other UCL clubs might think you're being disrespectful! ;)

It looks like with a bit of patience you can rely on the Mitoo site for information. It has now been updated with all of the attendance figures from last weekend, along with team information from the games.
